  6. Thanks Joe. I am "impressed" with my dubl duck. I am "impressed" with my Friodur. I am even "impressed" with my Dovo Sunday Shaver. I am satisfied with the Ralf Aust. I don't hate it. It's just not a "keeper".

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
EDRIO #46 BYBQ '82 Gillette Super Adjustable (Black Beauty)
    Astra SP
WWB Green Pearl w/ Maggard SHD knot (26mm, Frigate Class)
    Palmolive Classic shave sick
    Stirling Glacial Satsuma AS

Gave the Maggard SHD knot the ultimate face test this morning, lathering a stick applied shave soap. The tips in this knot are as soft as the softest synthetic but the bristles have a good bit of backbone to them and since the knot is so dense it has some nice splay resistance. It has no difficulty picking up the Palmolive and whipping it into a super creamy shiny lather. Three passes with the Black Beauty cranked wide open easily brought home the baby. Finished with some Stirling Glacial Satsuma AS for a face freezing citrusy treat. Have a great night my friends!

  10. Robert, I completely agree with you. You can't go directly east to west or vice-versa on the entire neck. What you can do is stroke the blade in a NW/SE direction and move upwards toward the jawline while stretching the skin to the side away from the stroke and then a possible NE/SW stroke moving away from the jawline so that you are doing an X pattern. I do this during my touchup phase. I don't need to do an X pattern, but you may need to because your beard is heavy. Most inexperienced straight shavers just do WTG and ATG on their neck and it usually doesn't give a BBS in that area. Word of caution, when you do the slant stroke, be careful because this technique gives a greater chance of cutting yourself.
  11. cool set up and pic Andrew..
  12. Saw on another forum today that they have a monthly thread for the “stunt shave of the month”. They do a theme like “Off handed April” or “No handle November”. Things typically known around here as “last Tuesday’s shave”. I know, we’ve got MAYhem and Cinco de Julio, but it makes one ponder if a monthly stunt should be a thing around here...

  13. It's not really up to us mere mortals. SHE might be summoned, but that's a risky move. Others may whisper and point at a target, but anyone standing nearby could get caught up in HER gaze. Then it's just a couple key strokes and you have a sign hung around your neck for all to see. Even I am playing a dangerous game just sharing this. Someone else has to really step in it before I'll think about dropping the "@" on HER.
  14. Great shave and picture, Andrew!
