  1. Thanks, I bought it at the East Coast Wet Shavers meetup a few weeks ago.

  2. Thanks, Jason. That's about the best I can say of Williams.

  4. Thank you, the pipe stand was a birthday gift from my mother a couple years ago. She found it on Amazon.

    Noble Otter~~Semogue~~Ralf Aust
    SR #60

I made some rash criticisms vis-à-vis my Ralf Aust 5/8 the other day. I though it best to
revisit this razor and take a closer and more objective look at it.
Yes, the front pin isn't tight enough to prevent the blade from falling back into the scales.
    Ok, that much was true.
I also took a closer look at the tang. The impression of the name is indeed engraved (stamped?).
The balance is good and I am comfortable using both left and right hands.
This is still the original edge, honed by Lyn Abrams about two years ago.
I have only stropped the razor.
The edge may be due for a refreshing, but today, I was successful in achieving a DFS
even a BBS on my cheeks and jawline.
Noble Otter is FANTASTIC soap. What a find!
Nectar Amissa is a complex rose scent, but SO MUCH MORE.

I like it better than Eufros Rosa Bourbon, AOS Rose Absolute and it's hands down better
than the Klar and Dusy Kabinett soaps. The matching aftershave leaves a subtile moisturizing
    sheen and feel. Again, brilliant.
Nice shave. I will stick with this blade for tomorrow and Friday.

  8. Well, MAYhem and Cinco de Julio are fast approaching. A bunch of us were in on the ill-fated Sayuri razor test a few years ago (you can Google it, but the Coles notes version is that they were Japanese disposable straight razors that would not cut anything. I mean anything). I found these at Fendrihan. Similar looking and just as cheap, but made by KAI so potentially better than Sayuris. Reviews are mixed. If I get a pack or two, any takers?

  10. Yet another great picture and report, Joseph. You have inspired me to use Noble Otter tomorrow morning. That will also fit in to my second use theme I have going right now. I have several soaps with only one use.

  18. That's the spirit!

Depends in which one you get. Some list Scotch bonnets as the first ingredient. The West Indian sauce is papaya first. Not quite as hot, but mighty tasty. Soca is my go to when I want hotter.

And if you're just in it to show off, the Trinidad scorpion sauce is brutal. I had a bottle once, but it was too much for me even. Couldn't finish it.

  19. Day 96.

Williams Wednesday! You can't see it in there, but that puck of Williams is getting pretty thin. Another one in my sights to finish off soon.
It was another nice 3.5 passes with the Mockba, and finished the lower neck with the Karve. Got a couple if weepers, no big deal. Still a good shave.
