"Conestoga" 6/8th inch P.Eisemann, Lancaster PA. Made in Germany In its "RAW" state. Needs plenty of care. But, for $6.95, I will give it a shot. The edge looks free of rust, so there is hope. The scales are nasty, and very loose. Once again, another I have not seen before. Any history on it would be helpful.
Tupper-Spiegel Co Duluth Minn 11/16th Little wear. This was prettied up a little, the blade and scales, before the pic was taken. It kind of looked rough, that is probable why I got it for $5. A little rust, and a lot of crud. Just the way I like them. Unknown who the maker was. Whether it was made from a razor manufacturer, of directly made by Tupper-Spiegel.
I recently got these two, a Wade & Butcher Extra Hollow Ground and a J. R. Torrey Our 136. I know of the manufacturers, but not the models. I don't see any chips, mostly dirt. Any help on information of these razors would be appreciated, thanks. Sent from my SM-T320 using Tapatalk
I've been in Billings for the last week or so helping get my wife's Aunt ready to move into an assisted nursing facility. This is my wife's Grandfather's shaving stuff which was given to me. He was born in 1900 and I guess to put things into perspective me and my wife just turned 66. The razors are A Novelty Cutlery (left) and an Easy Aces (Genco) plus a Craftsman Combination Razor Hone and an Illinois A175, Alaskan Seal Skin strop. Not pictured is a Gem razor and some WWI era memorabilia from a Great Uncle.
Nice Shavers those Rapides...The Blades are Probably HARD Swedish Steel..They Can be a Bugger to Hone or a Doddle Depending on Grinding Faults if Any...I Use One Layer of Tape & they Hone Up the Same as an SR.. They are Just a Different Feeling on the Hone is All..Enjoy.. Billy..
"Prima Max" Solingen 13/16th I lucked out on this one. The seller had very poor pics, again, which resulted in low bidding. It turned out to be NOS, with the grease still on it. It still had the factory edge on it too, which is very very sharp, but not trustworthy. It set me back $14.50 total.
YUP. It's not like they are the big named custom jobs. Just a few little lost razors, needing a good home.
F.W.Engels Special Solingen Germany 11/16+ inch This was a Buy it Now/Make Offer buy, on Ebay. The seller took $22.00, which surprised me. It looks like it has no hone wear, and the blueing on the tang has almost no wear. Very very slight tarnish, on the blade.
