20190413_182445.jpg No Arko today..or adjustable come to think of it. The fellow who created Kramperts Finest Bay Rum is a TOSTer. So today was a shave with a couple of his favorites. Kramperts Finest Bay Rum soap...omega Gulliver boar brush...and a 1924 ER. I am out of his after shave so I used the VIBR... The 1924 is not a favorite of mine as it is of his but it does a great job. Great start to a stormy night at work.

I got my old Craftsman lathe out today and set it up. Probably has not been used in 20 years and I cannot find the tool rest for it. I'll make one the first of the week, at least I found my turning tools. When I get every together I'll see if I am capable of turning a brush handle or two.

Thanks Fuzzy. It has been years since I have turned any wood. I use to do a lot of wood working. I just need to dust the tools off.

Danny, I did something different with the Stirling soap. I decided to bloom it. I used the bloom water as a preshave and then loaded my boar brush to face lather. I got a much thicker, and slicker lather. I have bloomed other soaps, but for some reason, I didn't think it was necessary with Stirling soaps. It was a nice discovery!

Great shave Fuzzy but is it getting bad enough to keep a pistol near the soap.;)

There is a guy named Eric Latta who is the host of Adventures in Wet Shaving on YouTube. He blooms his Stirling soaps. Also, Nick, who is the host of Nick Shaves on YouTube blooms Stirling soaps as well.

I have never thought about blooming Stirling. I get great results from it in its "natural" state. I think I need to throw a few bricks. :happy068:
