Well I'm continuing narrowing down my den so I'm trying to come up with the best lavender scented soap to keep. Today it was Mike's vs Dr John's. Off the puck I prefer the scent of Dr John's however Mike's scent improves once lathered. Speaking of lather I found that Mike's created a thicker lather with slightly more staying power. I applied the Dr John's on the right side of my face and the Mike's on the left. Both had about the same slickness, glide and cushion but both were just average; not the worst I've tired but no where near top tier. In the end the alum told the tale, I had equal burn on both sides of my face. Considering both had relatively equal performance scent is going to be the deciding factor in picking a winner here. I greatly prefer the scent from the Dr John's. The next round I will do a shave off between the Dr John's and my Martin de Candre Original to determine which I'm keeping.
For those following along I did a follow up shave comparing my Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica vs Route 66 Twisted Tweed. In the end the Saponificio Varesino is simply a better soap. It has superior glide, cushion and post shave feel. Have a great day folks!
