same here..when i started de i went clean shaven and loved it.under nose didn't like many passes for me and very course stubble so hard to get bbs there. grew a stash then looked like a 70s porn star.. goatee it is..and low maintenance..
long hair and beard for me in the 80s and 90s. i was rock star rebellious..then the dreaded mullet..wife and kids changed that.. the mullet anyways..
I don't know about that. As I get older I seem to be getting hairer in certain areas that used to not be hairy.
I didn't shave for years, until just before Christmas last year, then one day I looked way older than I was so I got rid of it all minus a van dike beard.
Just shaved yesterday with my 1831 Greaves. It's just awesome to me to get an effortless BBS shave from a 189-year-old blade.

Nah, it's one thing to have a 2 day growth. But you should take a shower and comb your hair. These guys just rolled out of bed and went to work. Herm
I have the same problem, I thought about using a straight to clean up my ears, opted instead to have my woman pluck those hairs.

I started because it seemed like a better deal and eco friendly. It all started out in my teens. I didn't learn from anyone. No youtube, no barbers, no older family member, etc. to teach me. I taught myself. I saw my older brother bring in a shavette, which I mistook for a knife. He called it a straight razor and I looked online for a straight razor to see if he was lying or not. That was about it. Turns out he never really knew how to use it and of course it turned out to be shavette as I mentioned earlier not exactly a straight razor. He carried it to use it as a weapon. He wasn't even aware he could change the blade out.
