  5. I don’t think it is ‘settling for Proraso’ at all, Robert. As you do, I get quality lathers from it, and the one ASB I have (Blue) is a decent product as well.
Good to see you posting again, Bruce! We left the light on. What is the soap in the pic that says ‘soap’ on it? Not sure I’ve seen that before.
Very nice combo, with a some unique software, Andrew. I don’t have a G1, but my G4 is a great razor and if they are the same that is a quality shaver.
I’d buy that brush, Keith! I’m a sucker for straight stickers...
She recognized the Arko? I’m still amazed that there is such a thing as an Arko aftershave...
Awesome combo, Gary! You have a great collection of British Gillette razors, no question.

    Razor: Rex Ambassador 6.5
Blade: Gillette 7:0'clock Super Stainless (3)
    Brush: Grizzly Bay WarForge/Maggards SHD
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: A&E L'Orange Verte
    Stirling Orange Chill witch hazel
    PAA Star Jelly unscented
    AS: A&E L'Orange Verte

    Good morning!

Excellent shave to start the day. Three passes for near BBS. Just a tickle from the alum.

Not much to report. Kind of dragging. I haven't gotten into the swing of things yet. The longer these extra hours go on the more normal they feel. Another day or two and I should be back up to speed.

    Have a great day!

  14. Tuesday morning April 16 - Rule shave #26

Delta Echo refurbished Gillette Fatboy on 4 / Rapira Swedish Supersteel (2)
Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles brush
    MWF/Kent in beechwood tub
Alum and Polar Ice Booster splash

Wonderful shave today! I was going to do one-and-done but the lather was so nice I had to use it for my normal second pass. Taking short strokes, I came as close to a BBS as I ever have with two passes. No irritation and almost completely smooth everywhere -- at least a DFS++. A great start to the day!

    Birthday shave!

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick G1
    Brush: JR #41 badger
    Soap: Stirling Haverford
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Haverford aftershave

Easy shave this morning. Haverford is a wonderful and strong scent. The lather quality is typical Stirling excellence even though the lather color resembles melted chocolate ice cream. That's always a little different after bright white lathers but it's not a problem. Terrific all around.

    Have a great day!
