i have the yellows , they are ok..haven't tried the greens yet, but like the original super stainless blades..if i don't like them my buddies use them..
Love Russian blades and my current favorites are Polsilvers, but also rotate in Voskhod, GSB and Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellows. I have several years' worth of Polsilvers, stemming from the rumor that was going around 2 or 3 years ago that they were being discontinued. Hey, can never be too sure.
can you ever have enough blades? blades have been object my recent acquisition disorder, and least co$tly at my current use rate i have about 19 years worth "you can never be to sure"
In our JIT society, without the reasonable successes a sacrifices of today's heroes there would be no, none, zero.... NOS materials for the next generation to enjoy!
Astra stainless vs. Astra platinum? Rapira lux vs. rapira stainless vs. rapira Swedish? I have and like the platinum versions curious about their comrades....
Astra SP feels smoother to me. Rapira PL feels sharper, all of the other rapira blades feel the same as each other.
Wow,!!!Blades really are the biggest YMMV aspect of this hobby. I've tried just about all the St Pete blades aswell as all the Rapiras... I have several favorites of each...but since SE shaving and Injectors have completely won my heart....it's changed my perspective... The ONLY DE blades that still attracts me to the point of actually using a DE razor are the Perma-Sharp Supers!....For me, in a class to themselves! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
The Plats felt smoother the Stainless felt sharper....between the two in my Slim I prefered the Blue Stainless... And Rapira Stainless.. But!! I'd only use either one if I was out of Perma Sharp Supers!! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
We have a number of Russian members here. https://theshaveden.com/forums/search/38994667/?q=Russia They should be able to shed some light on the matter. If they are the same, it means that the "Swedes" were never discontinued after all, wouldn't it? Perhaps the distribution channels or package markings changed. The two tuck styles differ only in color, and with one being loose packs and the other being packaged on a card meant for a wall display. Bullgoose is far from being the only source for the new Swedes, even if the two Gillette Platinum pack styles contain different blades. Gillette Swede blades on Bullgoose Shaving for $17.50 per 50 blades: https://bullgooseshaving.com/blogs/news/the-new-gillette-swedes-are-here The same thing on eBay for $7.72 per 50 blades: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gillette-P...ouble-edge-10-boxes-per-5-blades/323574469918
I wrote to Gillette directly to see if I could get some clarification from the actual source. Unfortunately US Gillette referred me to Russia Gillette. I found that to be ridiculous. So I responded to the US Gillette person and told them so and said I would not be buying these blades no matter where I could find them. Am I shooting myself in the foot? Maybe. But I already have a great blade that works for my face and beard. Sure it happens to be another Gillette product, Gillette Silver Blues. But I won't add to Gillette's footprint in my house if they can't provide a simple answer to a simple question.
Some are maybe not even available in Russia. Or not officially distributed there. I know that at least Astra, Perma-Sharp, and Minora are made for Markets outside of Russia.
The website they directed me to is entirely in Russian. It's one company. Someone in the US who fields customer inquiries should be able to determine who they can speak with in Russia to get the answer to the question. Why should I have to chase this simple question down? I wouldn't know the first thing about about trying to navigate a website entirely in Russian. It might seem like it makes sense, but it actually doesn't.
Same here. Sputnik, Voskhod, Ladas, GSB, Rapira are all awesome blades. I never had a bad shave with a Russian blade.
