Wednesday morning April 17 - Rule shave #27 - shaving drunk Delta Echo refurbished Gillette Fatboy on 4 / Rapira Swedish Supersteel (1) Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles brush MWF/Kent in beechwood tub Alum and Polar Ice Booster splash I couldn't sleep last night after I got off call after midnight, so I did something I don't normally do and had a very large sherry to put myself to sleep. (I rarely drink any alcohol.) Then when I woke just before dawn, I foolishly had a few more before going back to bed. When I got up early this morning and decided to shower and shave to brace myself, I was not what I would consider sober. So I had a unique opportunity to test the age old question: can one safely shave with a safety razor while drunk? The answer is Yes. There might be some question about which image in the mirror one wants to shave, so closing the eyes and shaving blind might help, but ultimately, if one holds the razor lightly in a couple fingers to ensure No Pressure, Technique will triumph. Two passes, no errors, no complaint from the alum, DFS. Then I went back to bed for a couple hours and was sober enough to post. It just proves the Three Ts again: Technique Trumps Teatotalling... Doesn't do much for the hangover though...
