You all have some gorgeous Gillettes. I have a couple left, but 90% are sold. You're almost making me regret my decision. Almost.;)

    I'll post a few sets.

This one assuming the razor is correct for the case should be a French 3pc Tech set. It is your standard British 3pc Tech but made for import.

This one is a pre-war style Tech. This one if the blades are what to go by was produced in 1944.

Here is a Canadian Super Speed styled Rocket. Notice the lack of made in the USA on the base plate, that is how you know it is a Canadian version. This is a 1952 date code X 1.

Allow me to share my British Combination. No cracking at the hinge points. Needed to say I was pretty stoked to find it.

Here are a few Milord sets. I only have 1 case but any of these 3 razors would be the correct razor to this particular case.

The first is an US Aristocrat Jr Styled Milord, this one was only produced in 1948.

    ml1a.jpg ml1b.jpg

The second is the standard 40s style Super Speed Milord, this particular one since it has no date code was produced between 1948 and 1950.

    ml2a.jpg ml2b.jpg

The third one is a Rocket styled Milord. It shares the same pointed end caps as British Rockets and TTO mechanism. This one based on what I've read was produced in 1949. If not 1949 then sometime between 1948 - 1950 based on the lack of date code and base plate stampings.

Here are a few Gillette SE Autostrop Valet Razors.

First is the VC3 which was produced according to research by others from 1935 until about 1940. This razor is a unique Gillette design since it was first produced after the merger of Autostrop with Gillette in 1930. They made these with and without the Gillette stamping.

    vc3sa.jpg vc3sb.jpg

Next is the VC4 which as above according to research was produced from 1940 to about 1946. This also happens to be the last SE Valet Autostrop model Gillette produced. These also came with and without the Gillette stamping.

    vc4sa.jpg vc4sb.jpg

Here is a picture of both types with and without the Gillette stamping
    vc4com.jpg

Whether they produced these razors past 46 I don't know but they certainly did produce the blades up to at least 1952, this blade here is dated coded 1951. This is also how to tell if the blades are produced by Gillette or not.

If you are a Gillette collector and not an Autostrop collector and only wanted to acquire these 2 razors, the unique feature on the VC3 and VC4 from all earlier Autostrops are those tabs that are used to hold the blade in place. What distinguishes the VC3 from the VC4 visually is the VC3 has an open comb and VC4 has the safety guard bar.
