Gentlemen, thanks for the kind words. We are fortunate to have a great builder (skilled, reputable, and honest) and the time to dedicate to the project ourselves. In fact, the kind gentleman that oversees the construction for the builder has become a friend. We had our first home for 20 years, our second one for 12 years, and now this one. Once we plant ourselves, we tend to stay there. We're also the kind of people that buy used cars and keep them until there's nothing left. We can't predict what tomorrow will bring, but we hope to be here for awhile.

Thanks guys! Ain't no more storage if I fill this up. :)

Thank you, Paul! We have a very small yard, but our house will back up to some woods. I may have to enjoy a shave or two from the patio. It won't take our neighbors long to figure out that I'm nuts, so I won't worry about what they think. :) As you can see from the photo, the builder is bringing in some fill dirt to raise the grade. Our basement will still end up being mostly above grade. He also plans to replace the old fence and remove one of the trees that is ominously leaning toward our house.

If I'm not mistaken, @Keithmax has a similar view from his apartment window. ;)

Thank you, Joe! I'm really glad I have the Parker SRX and have developed decent skills with it. I continue to be inspired by (and learn from) the progress of my brothers here with straight razors and shavettes. As you and others have said many times, learning to shave with an open blade is the gateway to having the skill and confidence to shave with anything.

Next up is my Mongoose. It's an SE razor that uses Feather blades. It will be a nice change of pace.

Thank you, Bruce! I have a ways to go before I equal your experience with the SRX. Reaching 100 shaves is awesome. Like you, I'm less inclined to favor one blade over another in it.

I'm really sad about @clint64 and the Clubman deal. We should probably get a small group of us together to plan some kind of intervention. Friends gotta look out for each other.

Along with the drum of Clubman, we ought to send him a Parker SRX too. This will be two new punches in his Man Card. He may even sprout a few new chest hairs...and not the gray ones.

Well, we already established the fact that you won't be doing any shave videos for just that reason :).

Thank you, Charlie! I love brickhouses and I wish you many more years of enjoyment. I think everyone on this forum agrees that we are to encourage one another's progress as well as give constructive advice to clear away any pitfalls that may obstruct anyone's journey. There is a nice mix of veterans and newbies, with each of us living in different parts of the US as well as Canada that makes us a unique and friendly group of guys. May we all continue to enjoy our time together.

Thank you, Joe. I agree fully with your sentiments about the fine folks here on TSD and especially our 30DC brothers. We've even got some brothers from cool places like South Africa, the UK, South Korea, Russia (or St. Louis) and even Alabama. ;)

As you fellas know, I've placed great emphasis on weather conditions as I choose my SOTD. In an effort to reduce the amounts of the soaps I normally use in the late fall&winter, I'm changing my thinking on this-to a degree, that is. So long as it isn't hot&humid(and here in the Boston area, as well as up and down the Eastern seaboard for that matter, when it's hot it's more often than not humid, too), I'll figure to continue with fall&winter products. I define "hot" as 80 and above. Conversely, from about late November through March, you won't see me using Aqua Velva, Skin-Bracer or the like. I keep going back to that hot&humid summer day when I tried Clubman. It was like frying an egg on my face. (Course that would have happened with other cold-weather products too, but Doc Pinaud got me good that day. Sweated Clubman all day. ). Bottom line: Time to do some "spring cleaning" , or "spring REDUCING of my soaps. I have my eye on some new ones, but I need to reduce first. Just want to make sure my face doesn't burn or freeze. Other than this, I have nothing to say.

We had a blast in England. The people were incredibly friendly, and the weather was warm and sunny most of the time. Maybe we're talking about different places, James! ;)

We did have some cool, windy weather, a couple of England's finest drenching rains, and some great pub ales. I'm out of Palmolive soap, so I need to go back soon. :)
