The Amalfi Basil Lemon Shave Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #331 Boar brush. I did two passes with the Enders Speed Shaver razor with an Enders Speed Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Pinaud Vanilla AS. Starting down the SE path with a bang! Micromatic Open Combs are efficient razors. Light, light touch. I had one a couple of years ago and would always get weepers and decided to sell it. Then I revisited it after @Linuxguile surprised me with a very kind gift of another MMOC. Much better results this time around. I ought to get it back out soon.
SOTD April 19 Pre-Shave: Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap Razor: Schick Injector G4 Blade: previously used unknown brand blade Brush: Yaqi Mysterious Space (24mm, Frigate Class) Soap: Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange AS: Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill PSB AS: Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange AS Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
FRIDAY SHAVE Razors: Clark’s Silver King CS Improved King Blade: Gem CS (1) Brush: TOST LE Soap: Palmolive AS: Florida Water Did a head to head. Left side Silver King, Right side Improved King Long story short. Virtually the same results. The Improved had a bit more tooth. Upon inspection there might be a slight tweak to the combs. Easily fixed but totally unnecessary. These razors are winners in my book. The Improved is actually a bit improved on the gold downs. 4 vs 2. Both are a dream to load. Sun 21st April Jayaruh Syn No67 Tabac Soap Schick "O" Clone Schick Twin- Japan [ 1 ] Tabac A/S Lotion. This Razor may well be a modern reproduction but it is solidly built , some say as good as an original which are like hens teeth. It is a great Razor for a relaxed weekend Shave, and when used with a fresh blade like today-provides an ultra smooth Shave, with a finish that equals any that I get with any Vintage/ Modern SE, a real "Face Stroker".

First foray into Autostrop razors. I had to shave twice today. First shave was with a VC4 and vintage Valet blade. The blade was no good and so was the shave. I might as well have not shaved today and it would have been a closer shave. I don't think any of the other ones I have are any better either. The ones with the pins on them are getting sidelined until I get in the Feather blades I ordered for these. Next shave was with a VC1 and modified gem carbon steel blade. Much better. Not the closest shave I've gotten but if this is any indication this razor is going to be in regular rotation with this blade. Lot of blade feel and audible feedback but an overall mild shave with no nicks or cuts.
