I hit the upper limit of my weight target this week (205), so I decided to replace my two everyday belts. I read reviews, poked around and found discount codes for each of them. I don't pack heat or rappel much these days, but just in case...

I'm replacing a couple of "Old Bull" belts from Saddleback Leather that have worn like iron but are too long.

I’ve seen ‘Menthol Monday’ and ‘Williams Wednesdays’, so while shopping yesterday at a discount store...just thought of ‘Frugal Friday’ and had to pick up the Barbasol. Maybe it's not new....but I haven't seen it mentioned. Anyways, typical day with the FB. Easy 2 pass shave, not quite DFS. Some areas required buffing.

Skin feel while shaving and after water rinse definitely dry and tight feeling...completely opposite the Ogallala, Proraso, TOBS, GFT, Stirling, and many others I have. The Barbasol has serious cushion, some areas required pressure that seemed out of the ordinary. Will definitely hand lather some more with what I have and try to get to that level of cushion with brushes. The Pinaud is a good everyday scent, light and crisp.

Nice shave and photo, Blair! @RyX advocates spraying some Barbasol in a bowl and then punching it down with a brush and adding water. Basically bowl lather a big dollop of it. I've tried that method and it works pretty well. Enjoy your day off with your daughter!

April Focus

Arrived at BSU a bit early so I have a few minutes to chronicle today's shave.
As you can see, I chose my 1908 Gillette rather than a straight razor, because of time.
New Minora blade (first ever use of this brand) replaced the worn-out Personna 74.
Stirling and Noble Otter competed the cast of characters.
This N.O. is outstanding. So much so, that I ridded my shave den of my complete lineup of rose-scented soaps,
with the lone exception being my Eufros Rosa Bourbon.
And I mean ALL.
The complex rose scent is so much more pleasing to my nose than the straightforward rose,
one usually finds. I couldn't be more pleased. SWMBOSOA too.
Add in the fact that this soap creates lather worthy of a soap 5x as expensive and what you have here
is a winner, winner chicken dinner.
My single-ring, which is actually on sale on ebay and other fora, is such a great tool.
I will not be sorry if it does not sell.
After checking the alignment of the Minora blade, I went to work and was able to
achieve my first true BBS is many days. BBS shaves are rare now that I use a straight.
So I was particularly delighted with today's results.
The N.O. aftershave leaves the skin very moisturized and well-nourished.
I smell like a million bucks and have the skin of a new-born.
Now all I have to do is teach these skulls full of mush how to sing. ​

 

Not your first successful enabling. It was you who got me with the Soap Commander aftershaves when they were first released. Gotta give credit where credit is due.
