I did the "dig the toast out of the toaster" thing just last week. Well, it's a "toaster/microwave". I thought I had it, but it fell to the bottom, resulting in a small fire(that is, the kind that goes out with a quick blow).

I'm glad it was minor, Paul. All kidding aside, this can be serious stuff.

This was one of my nephew's hobbies in his early years. So much so that his dad would take him to Vegas to see card magicians.

To me, it means to focus on shaving with proper technique, and good shaves will result. That's why I usually stop at two passes plus touch ups for a really nice shave. Four passes would get me closer, but my skin could not handle it.

Sorry for the late reply...real life tends to get in the way. :angry019:
I would imagine that using a shavette for a head shave is time consuming. Not to mention all the angle changes, risking a bite. Should I decide to shave my head again, I'd probably try it, just to say I did. Most likely, like you, I'd go with the Rockwell for the bulk of the shaves. They're great "autopilot" razors. I'd still insist on using mirrors. But, oh yeah - I'm sure that using a DE razor for 10 years on the noggin was a big help on getting the feel for it.

Very cool, Paul. I love to see magicians perform as well. I had a set of those TV Magic Cards and other sets of "trick cards" as a kid.

I grew up in the neighborhood next to Lance Burton and got to see him perform as a young guy in Louisville and much later in Las Vegas. He's now considered to be one of the world's greatest magicians.

I'll have to ask Sam if Burton was one of the magicians he saw.
