Thanks Doug. I have been so busy I took a break from posting but slowed down today and had some fun. It has been a couple months!
    Happy Easter my friend.

Today's shave was with one of China's finest. I had a very smooth, 2 pass shave, that left me with a DFS. No touch ups, and pretty good, for shaving a three day growth. These razors are made very well.

    Razor- Chinese ZY.
Brush- RazoRock 400, WD Badger knot.
    Soap- ARKO/Sandalwood scented
    Aftershave- Pinaud Lime Sec

I used to love the Edge gel when I wet shaved in decades past. And Afta smells great.

That is a gorgeous razor. Fantastic machine-work by whoever made it and a really cool design. Vintage with modern touches to the art/lines.

Thanks Tim. Not sure who Stan at Above The Tie uses to do the machining but it may be local to him in Tennessee, iirc.
The handle was a different creator, and haven’t seen his work come up in a while.
    Have a great weekend!

    SUNDAY'S SHAVE

Bath Soap - Shulton Old Spice "Fresh Lime" (circa 1974)
Razor - Gillette Superspeed (circa 1947-1952) (Re-plated in Nickel Finish by Razor Emporium)
    Blade - [IMG] *5th shave
Shave Brush - Declaration Grooming "Fatty" in custom green color with Synthetic Knot
Shave Cream - Proctor & Gamble Old Spice "Fresh Lime"
Suribachi Lather Bowl handmade by Of the Dirt Pottery
Deodorant - Shulton Old Spice Lime (circa 1968-1975)
Talcum Powder - Shulton Old Spice Lime (circa 1967-1970)
Aftershave - Shulton Old Spice Lime (circa 1966-1976)
Fragrance - Shulton Old Spice Lime Cologne Splash (circa 1966-1976)

***EDIT - This is a lovely cream that really came out fantastic in this shave. When the right amount of cream and water and lathering come together then this cream is a 10/10. Slick, protective, cushion and residual slickness. When rinsed off completely it doesn't have the post-shave smoothness of some artisan soaps, but for an industrial cream this is the best I've encountered. A perfect result with this requires a bit more cream, a bit more time lathering and the right amount of water. The cream doesn't breakdown and keeps moisture really well.

I did 2-passes then an extensive cleanup. I got a fantastic shave. No preshave needed. Afterwards no balms. Just classic aftershave and some talc. This old set really did great with the modern cream.

    Date:- 21 April 2019

Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap
Brush:- Edwin Jagger Synth. v2.0 Silvertip Fibre Faux Horn 25/58mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Wholly Kaw ~ King of Bourbon
Razor/Blade:- Karve CB 'C' / Vintage NOS Gillette Stainless #6
Post-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Natural Glycerin (20), Tea Tree Antiseptic (10), Lavender (15) & Peppermint (10 drops)
    Fragrance:- Hugo Boss (Original)

It's time to put all my badger and boar brushes away, because, it's nearly mid-Autumn now while we're heading toward Winter, because, they do take a lot longer to dry out properly in colder weather.
I've soaked all my badger and boar into 50% vinegar mixed with 50% water to clean out all the soap scrub deep into the knot for about 20 or 30mins, then I'm going to give them a complete shampoo to bring back the natural hair while they're drying out before I put them away ready again for Spring and Summer. I'll be using three different synthetic brushes in my rotation until the end of Winter seasons, which makes a lot easier and they do dry out pretty quick.
