Guys, there's a thread on Badger and Blade on this same subject that was posted years ago and is still active because it's so useful. Members make daily contributions. So I thought I'd start the ball rolling here.

I learned that many strokes over the same spot with very light pressure is less irritating than fewer strokes with more pressure, at least for me.

Don’t under estimate inexpensive stuff. I bought a $3 clone razor head just to try it and it has been fantastic. I like it so much I feel like I’m cheating on my more expensive stuff.

Same here! I shaved with a lion De today, it was my first double edge and ive neglected it ever since i got fancier razors. Beautiful BBS shave from it, actually the best shave ive ever had.[IMG]

I’ve been looking at one on eBay. I’ll definitely have to try it now.:)

Reminded myself of what I knew but largely forgot -- a Gem 1912 with a new carbon blade makes for a comfortable, smooth and dandy shave.

Learned to put the coffee cup as far away from the cup holding the brush as possible. ;)
Also learned to not shave without my glasses on.

My son was shaving and he was trying out a new blade. I hear him complaining about the rough shave he was getting. So I told him I would like to try it. Sure enough not quite as bad as him but still a bad shave. Sometimes it’s not experience, it’s just a bad blade.

To not shave when your tired. Lather could have been better, and I'm shot. But hey, I'm getting better with my Badgers.

That my boar brush is a magician. It makes all the lather disappear while I'm focused on the first pass and makes the lather reappear after I reload.

Totally agree about the Boar, but can't do Proraso ... it doesn't like me. :ashamed001: EDTA in it.

EDTA is a byproduct of formaldehyde.

No joke ... I can't make that kind of stuff up. EEWWWWW!!!! :sick007:

    Great idea for a thread.

Sometimes rushing, hurrying the shave, takes longer. Blood takes a while to clean up...
