Thanks Danny! The soap is still a little squishy but I'll leave the lid off so it can tighten up.
Had to be done. I'd relegated that vintage puck to the trade or toss pile. My interest was renewed in discussion elsewhere on TSD. When I cut it up I could see the discoloration on the outside of the puck. Glad I did it as I otherwise might not have enjoyed the vintage lather. Next time I use it it'll just get the "usual" treatment. Just enough preload hydration to score another decadent lather!

Sometimes it's not about the destination, but the journey. The effort paid off.

That is not blooming by the way. Using the hot water to mold the soap is a good process. I did that with some AV scented modern Williams I am working on.

As for the Colgate you could probably have used it the way it was just fine. I used a very dry cake of cup soap the other day to show no need to bloom even very dry soaps. Colgate soap just plain rocks!!

    SOTD:
Decided to use the palmshave a second time last night, beautiful BBS shave, but im still not a fan of the scent or its slickness which isnt great, but it gets the job done. I can definitely see that its far better than gel, but not as good as something like Godrej lime which easily beats it in terms of slickness and scent.

Beautiful performance from the lion de, my next shave tomorrow will be with the aristocrat, so its the last shave with the lion for a few weeks or so.

The feather is definitely losing sharpness quickly, no pulling or tugging yet but i can definitely see that the amount of hair it shaves after each pass is decreasing, so ill probably retire it at shave 30.

Daves balm performed flawlessly as it always does, a great winter balm if you suffer from dry skin.

    Razor: lion de
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (26)
    Soap/cream: Palmshave lime
    Brush: dischem synthetic
    Aftershave: Dave's home made balm[IMG]
