    Planned for later....

This one is for @Primotenore! I just read his post in the May thread...and it made me smile. There's something about open blades that draws me in as well. If you're new and want to try SR or shavette, do it! It's more tedious than hard, and we'll help you get the skills you need to succeed. As an additional benefit, the fine motor skill required for open blades will improve the ability to control any style of razor, and will improve the shaves all the way around.

As far as my month, I really like Arko. It could be my forever soap. It's not the most luxurious experience in shave soap, but is a nearly foolproof lather and is probably the best "dollar for performance and longevity" value in soap available. Arko is also the perfect pairing for the Veg. Spending time with the brush was good again as well. I may write more about cans versus brush in May.

Other than that...spring snow on the grass, and all is quiet in Colorado.

Have a great afternoon and a pleasant evening!

    :)

It cleaned up really nice, Danny. Now you need a third Star Lather Catcher...for parts, of course. ;)

IMG_1933.jpg A very nice last shave of April this morning. I was a little rushed, and did have a little leaker on my upper neck, but everything worked as it should. Quality products all around.
I focussed on some neglected/underused razors and soaps for much of the month. I realized that everything I brought out is a keeper, especially the great week I had with my neglected Old Type, the usual fantastic run with a MonoBilt, as well as getting this Blackhawk dialed in. The month also saw a new cream- the Castle Forbes Lime from @Keithmax enter the den, and it is a winner. A few products did vacate though- a Mahogany handled brush (my first that I turned, as I recall), Flare Tip Superspeed, Nacet and Astra tucks and Palmolive Stick all to my father-in-law. The good news is that my new 4 pack of Palmolive sticks arrived yesterday from England. I should be good for a bit.
I have felt pretty disconnected the past week or two from the group and I really hope I have more time to dedicate to the thread and to the 30 Day Crew in May. Here's hoping.
    Have a great day, all!

    Bowl: Knockout Shave Bowl.

Finished the month with my Fat Boy Adjustable. It's been a great month for adjustable razors. As you can tell the water level has been high around here and there has been lots of flooding. We are on high ground so it didn't effect us.

    Palmolive for me.
    Is that a backhanded compliment?
We're chilly here, but the snow was on the other side of the Rockies- 4 inches outside of Calgary where we were this past weekend.
    You as well, Chris.

Great shave this morning. Arko and the badger made great lather. 300 blades and a 12pk of arko due today. Little blood on the chin, but that was my fault. [IMG]
