Well I'm always the odd ball.... I like to listen to world band radio (short wave) and being able to change receiver locations is a great thing. Now I can use other radios all over the world and listen. http://websdr.org/ It works on my cell phone too tp
My mom introduced me to Zappa when I was born, it is sad to hear that this concert was not as good as it could have been. I unfortunately have never seen them in concert. I listen to Zappa probably once a week or so and spend a lot of time singing them to my self. I get a lot of looks humming about Montana and dental floss... Or some lady named Dinah-Moe. I wish they would have filmed Thingfish. That would have been a great movie, or Joes Garage.
I highly suggest checking out Dweezil's band when he tours in September. I think he's going to be in Europe in December. He is doing the entire Hot Rats album and more. Great band and they really do Frank's music justice. I think something happened between when Dweezil was born and when Ahmet was born because after seeing this most recent production, I actually don't think Ahmet has a clue what his father was all about. Dweezil seems to get it. Don't get me wrong. Dweezil is not his father and cannot play the guitar like his father but he's a damn good guitar player. Definitely worth seeing. I've seen Dweezil's band 6 or 7 times over the years. Hot Rats should be pretty cool.
I actually did get to see him once 30ish years ago in Mannheim, Germany. It was supposed to be his last tour with him playing guitar. Ended up being his last tour, period.
Haven't yet set up my "pre-gym songs". Might open with George Harrison's "Blow Away". Always liked that one. In fact, that's what I did! Then I went to Elton John's "The One".
And then I finished off with "I'm The Pied Piper(And I'll Show You..Where It's...At)". R.I.P. Christian St. Peters, that was a classic.
