  2. Hello
On my first french shaving forum, "le coupe-chou club" or CCC, we welcomed last month à new member who is blind.
I accepted the challenge to coach him in à couple of days.
Then I thought "how to speak about sensations I don't know ? "

So I challenged myself to shave without beeing able to see

This is the second shave I did, the first one was ... a bit bloody

    Tabac Thursday's Shave

    zcws.jpg

    Cold Water Rinse
    Tabac
    Jayaruh #360 Synthetic
    TNNSER
    Gem Blue Star CS
    CWR
    Tabac AS

My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Tabac Shave Soap face lathered well with Jayaruh #360 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the TNNSER razor with a Gem Blue Star CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  6. Ganz tolle Rasur mein Freund!

Aramis riecht so schön - nach meiner Rasur benutzte ich es!
  7. Noble idea. I am always up for a challenge, but not with a straight razor. I would do it all day long, with a DE razor.

  8. 5AF176FB-DF95-4018-96F1-703F81E9A65B.jpeg Hey boys and girls,

    Here’s my Thursday morning SOTD:

    Hot shower
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Wilkinson Long Handle/new 7AM
    OSP Grapefruit Menthol SS
    Lucky Tiger ASB
    Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash
    Aramis EdT

This was a great shave in two easy passes but I’ll be watching how this 7 AM performs because the previous ones were relatively poor longevity wise. The Grapefruit Menthol soap from OSP should have been named Orange something or other because although it’s a very nice scent, there’s much more of an orange scent than a grapefruit one, at least to my nose. The lather it gave me was so rich, thick, and dense, the menthol effect was very strong, and the postshave feeling was so comfortable. The Lucky Tiger balm felt so cooling as well as moisturizing, and the Alcolado Glacial splash gave me a terrific icy cold blast. The wife loves the Aramis on me - and so do I. BBS as BBS could be!
  9. SOTD:
A beautiful shave this morning using the aristocrat and the South African Reitzer, definitely one of my all time favourite soaps. This stuff lathers like an absolute bomb and is so well priced and has such great performance that I'd go as far as to call it the South African Arko!

Today's shave was shave number 30 on the feather hi-stainless, an absolute milestone for me. Previously my most shaves out of a blade was 15, and this was achieved with a gillette 7 o clock sharp edge.

Even on shave 30 there was little to no tugging, although buffing is required and touch ups after the third pass.

Overall a great shave, which i ended off with Dave's fantastic menthol aftershave!

Razor: gillette aristocrat barber-pole handle 1948
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (30)
    Soap: reitzers perfect shave
    Brush: dischem synthetic
    Aftershave Balm: aquaeous cream
    Aftershave: Dave's menthol aftershave.[IMG]

  17. Day 2 Le Coq solid bar. After the Derby yesterday I stepped up sharpness a bit with Gillette Wilkinson. Another flawless, bloodless shave. I love this thing. More efficient than the Barbasol Floating Head, way smoother than the Ikon Tech. I'm giddy. IMG_20190502_083454-01.jpg

    Razor: Barbasol
    Blade: Gillette spoiler
    Brush: custom synthetic cedar
    Soap: Route 66 frozen margarita
    Post: frozen margarita balm

This is my 3rd floating head and I’ve had several of the knock offs, but this is the first time I’ve gotten an awesome shave let alone a decent one from these razors. hot damn I’ve been missing out. The soap is good, and I like the scent but regardless of brush the lather tends to be airy. I’m thinking the soap takes more water than I’m use to using.
