It could use a little more, on the blade, but at this point, I just stopped. There was rust all over, I even had to clean the inside of the scales out. The photos do not do the Silver Bolsters justice.

I know nothing about this razor. It is old, as I have seen one or two sold on eBay, but they were ratty, with old worn boxes.
This one looks as it it has never touched a hone, and still had grease on it, from the factory. But, it was also covered in rust, head to toe. I had to sand and buff the entire razor, and in the process, most of the Blueing wore off. I don't care to reblue it. Maybe later.
So, if anyone knows about these razors, please let me know about the history.

Looks Good .What grit did you use to finish the sanding ?

 

I will work from 180-1200 usually. The degree of corrosion, determines how low i start. This time it required very little sanding, and most of the work was done on the Bench Buffing Wheels. The Bench Buffing machine saves untold hours of sanding.

Hamburg Ring and Crown & Double Star



Both had a lot of rust. They both had Bone scales, that required whitening. They came as a set, but required a lot of work.

A little “frame on” scale restoration/modification on an old French near wedge...

So shaped them up. Much better feel.

Rust and tarnish all over. Not too bad though.

Sanding and polishing the blade and scales. This one shines, so, the dark areas are shadows, or reflections from the flash.

 

Soft spot for ERN and an even softer spot for the Ator, so I couldn’t let this razor not do what it was designed to do.

Slightly messed up point.

Already marked up for profiling.

The patient made it through surgery and post-op cleaning.

Went to the inner. I use the black for a negative. Gives me a feel for final look... and whether I need to shorten the scales. These were fine.

 

was the metal too far gone to grind on the outer ,like a round point end? just curious ..

I thought so - too much of the edge at the point was gone. The final shape is a rounded, just not too curved.
