I like good sci-fi, but playing dress up is a bit much I agree. The new BSG is nothing like the campy series from the 70's. This one has actually been really good especially for TV...good effects, good story, good acting etc. As mentioned though this last season is fizzling. I have a feeling they weren't sure how to end things and struggled.

EDIT: Bong doesn't like the acting but I think it's ok.

 

The only people who should be allowed to cosplay are 20-something Japanese girls.

 

Uh. Check my avatar out. Anyway, I really liked the new BSG up to the second part of the last season. I watched one of the new episodes and couldn't bring myself to watch anymore. Just seemed like a bunch of folks sitting around feeling sad for themselves. I'll go spend time with some teenagers if I want that experience.

I figure I'll watch it when it comes out on dvd. I agree that the series seems to be going out with a whimper.

Pittsburgh hosts Anthrocon every summer. It's the big "furry" convention.

The hotel is also the one MLB teams use when they play the Pirates. Resulting in some very confused ballplayers.

 

Huh. All we get in Phoenix is gang shoot outs every weekend.

 

We went downtown while it was going on. Met some friends at a sports bar and the freaks were every where. There are quite a few hotties though but mostly a ton of freaks swinging foam battle axes at each other and talking jibberish BS words is mega phones. They play all these stupid games right in the streets of downtown. It does bring alot of $$$ to the city though. Its fun to people watch to say the least. I saw a girl that had to be 250 dressed up as hello kitty or some anime cat? Very disturbing .....she was hanging out all over and had these 2 skinny guys dressed as dragon z guys? weird stuff.

 

I'm not big on the show for some reason.

I meant to send you a sample vial. Whoops. I'll have one out on Monday.

We arent as bad with the shoot ups but still worse than most. We also get the Gay Pride Festival also! Now that is hoot! They wouldnt allow them to use Piedmont park(central park of atlanta) last year b/c the drought but they are allowing them this year. The police blotter for that weekend is absolutely hilarious! What is about visitors from out of town that make the feel that local laws dont apply to them?

So just finished up a nice shave. Williams.. AV and a Gillette Old. I am using that thing too much.. BUT I do like the open comb Gillettes. I started a thread on that when I first moved over here. Might dig it back up. Seems like a lot of the SE types love the OC aggressive razors.. humm I do.

Ok time to grab a bite to eat and get my walk in for the day.
