Well as I see it we are nobody to point fingers and snicker at a bunch of guys who want to have a forum about electric razors. We're kind of a fanatical bunch ourselves, and I'm sure some cartridge razor guys lurk and laugh here too. So more power to them and their electrics.

What puzzles me is some of the claims being made over there. Guys saying they get a closer shave than w/ a blade. Claims of improved skin quality. Fast, effective shaves. Huh? I have dabbled in a few electric models over the years. They pull, they heat up and burn, they do not give a close shave, they leave a powdery residue behind, they are NOT a quick shave (it takes several passes and minutes to achieve any results). In the ranking of shave devices, electrics are at the bottom of my list. I'd rather use a bic disposable.

exactly. I think thats why he closed registration b/c of jackasses like me. You cant talk about crap! Hey buddy, you want my model 8675309 pubic hair eraser for $14? BANNED! There must have been a bunch of hoodlums if he had to close registration.

Eh. I used an electric off and on for 5 or so years. They beat poor quality disposables and they did provide a decent quality shave- at least before I learned proper technique and quit using cartridges.

The thing I remember about them is that they're expensive. the blades seemed to wear out quick and using one always left my face numb. I didn't mind using one but I also didn't enjoy it. I look forward to shaving now. I'd never go back to an electric.

 

I used an electric for a quick moment coming out of college but even then I thought it was boring. I guess I lowballed myself when I sold that Arist Jr for $35.....there is one in classified for $70! a little nicer but not twice as nice I sold it for what I paid for it so I feel better about it

 

I just switched off from using an electric last week. I can tell already I am going to enjoy my DE much, much more.

I never had any problems or complaints with an electric, but then again I never enjoyed shaving either.

They could and should simplify all those rules down to three:

1. Don't talk about anything, ever.
2. Fun is absolutely, positively prohibited.
3. Quit smiling!

I'm all for civil discussions on the internet, but those rules go way overboard.

 

Yeah well don't get me wrong. I disparage electric razors but not those that want to use them. If it works for you then have at it I say. I just don't see how is all. I considered the results to be passable at best but not comfortable, close or satisfying.

And as Forest Gump would say, "that's all I have to say about that."

Hey Bong thanks for the offer, but I think I'll let somebody else have it. I haven't even tried the sample you sent me yet so don't know if I'll like it or not. Even if I do I just don't have the need. I'm already going to be adding Irisch Moos and GFT to an already crowded rotation, and frankly I don't know what I'm going to do w/ it all.
