Shave #4 with the Autostrop this morning was the best so far. I still need a little more buffing than with other razors. But this thing is so mild that I think I could buff all day with no irritation.
It is another no shave day for me, as I am on a plane or in an airport pretty much all day. I saw my first Starbucks in Sweden, and it is the only coffee shop in this terminal, so I am now drinking a cup and catching up on the thread. The Swedish border agent recommended I say back for a while as apparently there are absolutely no cafes or shops in the two gates where my plane leaves. I am looking forward to get back to the house this evening. I hope everyone has a great day!
For SR shaving you want a very wet lather, almost liquid. If it is dry the razor will skip, not good when using an open blade.
Ed Brice was a pleasure to work with, truly a bespoke razor. My razor is also holding its edge, I am impressed all around.
Blair, when I use a shavette, I begin by lathering my entire face and then relathering areas as needed. This takes care of any drying lather. It's good to start off with a face full of lather as it hydrates your skin and beard. You're making great progress. Keep it up, my friend!
