Thank you! The week has been OK, but hectic as I get caught up from my trip last week and try to get ahead before I head out to Washington next week.

The amber reminds me of the Schick G6. I like it.

 

Thanks Jim....that was the inspiration. I remember seeing a Schick with an amber handle.

After 83 SR shaves:
The level of closeness on my neck has improved markedly.
My ability to "round the chin" has improved significantly.
(No jinx) I am able to strop smoothly and without nicking.
I need to spend more time practicing my honing.
Interestingly, my acquisition disorder has not included SR's.
Brushes...
In general, the shave den has shrunk, not grown.
SWMBO smelled Fine's Orange Noir on my cousin and suggested I purchase a bottle.
(Not happening, I have too many scents.)
The Tallow Williams is in a word: Amazing.
The Rubberset 400/3 is in two words: A Keeper.
The Dovo 6/8 with a Lynn Abrams edge is, in a word: Excellent.
The Barbers Choice Lilac would be a great alternative to those who aren't chosen.

Thank you Danny. I quit smoking so I use the funds that used to go up in smoke to reward myself. I admit I am excited about this razor but I want to use it a lot over the next several weeks before settling on my final opinion.

Thank you, Danny. My wife is better than the best for putting up with me for nearly 35 total Charlie years!!! You don't know the half of it.

We're hoping to get out for a nice lunch or dinner tomorrow to celebrate our big day!

Closing next Tuesday (occupancy permit or not) and planning our big furniture move day for a week from Saturday. Weather and contractor availability has delayed us a week. Just a small bump in the road and a 100% first world problem. Once we are approved for occupancy next week...containers will start moving...and moving...and moving...

 

Clint, that is a great way to reward yourself. With smoking you have nothing to show for it but health issues and now you have nice toys in the sandbox to play with. Looking forward to hearing about the shaves with the Tatara and your final opinion. I would also like to hear your thoughts on how it shaves compared to the Karve.

I understand completely Charlie. We are both blessed with a wife that puts up with us. Swati tells me Clint years are much longer than dog years.

On a dare, I once backed/hitched a semi tractor to a trailer...and then tried to move it forward with the trailer brakes locked...and wound up lifting the front tractor wheels off the ground and dragging the trailer a few yards. It was one of those "see if the college boy can do it" dares that almost went right. That particular year was one of the longest Charlie Years on record. Life is good.

Even as an Old Coot, if someone gave me the chance to drive 'Ole Yeller there, I'd do it before they figured out it was a stupid idea.

I really enjoy seeing those beautiful shave den items you are creating. Hope all is well, my friend.

L'Oreal Men's Facial Cleanser w/Charcoal

Put the Puma back on the Shapton 12k last night, followed by 100 laps on the strop. Huge difference. Still not quite the edge on the Feather DX (with Feather Pro Guard), but achieved a very nice DFS with the usual 2.5 passes. Everything just worked, the Drake put together a great slick lather with the bowl and Proraso SC.

One of my favorite combos, Proraso Sandalwood all the way. Smelling groovy.

A simple image today, focused on lighting and angle for the Puma's blade etching, which helped bring the colors forward of deep cobalt and grey in the shave bowl.
