I've always wondered about those eBarbershop items.....might throw in the towel one of these years and get one.

I like it Danny! You could also cut a few grooves in the handle a little ways down from the head to add a little bit of grip.

Thanks Andrew, that is a good suggestion. I was also thinking of taping part of the handle off and bead blasting the exposed area.

    Excellent shave Paul!
    Beautiful shot Keith!
M-Bombed and soused Barbasol, sounds great!
Happy Anniversary Charlie! I;m getting excited to read the first shave report from the new den!
Excellent shot Matthew. Might I suggest one thing to try with the soap. Most times if there is an issue with lather performance it can be resolved by loading more product. Try loading 2-3 times longer then you normally do adding a few drops of water whenever the mixture gets real pasty.
Excellent scenic photo Jim! Enjoy your last day there, you've definitely earned the rest and relaxation after those long stretches of working without a day off!
Beautiful shot Clint! Glad to hear that your first outing with the Tatara was a success!
Fantastic shot Jim! My SWMBO is a fan of DBS as well!
Nice catch-up report, Jason! I hope life calms down for you soon.
Thanks for checking in John, and Happy Anniversary!
    Beautiful shot Joseph!
Awesome photo, Blair! Your attention to the lighting really paid off!

I'll definitely give it a try! There seems to be plenty of soap, but not much slickness but ill give it a try!

If you take a look at the RazoRock Halo handles, they are quite grippy even though there is no knurling on them. Also I think a Bamboo type pattern in the acrylic would look quite nice too!

Thanks Andrew..the Halo handle is interesting and would be easy to duplicate. An acrylic Bamboo would be intersting as well.

When the four of us get together for the distillery tour and dinner, Swati and Kathy will have their hands full. :scared011:

No worries, though. I'm a Kentucky Colonel, so I'm sure we'll be out of jail after one night with only a few hours of community service to complete. ;)

Thanks Danny. The fun is always a welcome break from the action. Keep it coming! We're just taking things one day at a time and trying to keep things in perspective. Taking a few breaks today in between lifting heavy boxes...

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    EDRIO #62 Dorco PL-602
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum (2)
WWB Green Pearl (26mm Maggard SHD Fan, Frigate Class)
    Stirling Sharp Dressed Man soap
    Fine Platinum AS

Let the knot trials begin! I think the best way to get a feel for a knots performance is with a full face lather. To keep things relatively consistent my procedure for evaluating the knots will be to use the soap that I am most familiar with, Stirling. I will perform a 30 second load (15 second clockwise and 15 second counterclockwise) and then go into a full face lather. This knot is amazing, and is going to set the bar very high! It has velvety soft tips while maintaining good backbone. Lather production was excellent and the softness of the tips rivaled the softest synthetics without the springyness. Of course the slickness of a properly hydrated Stirling lather is hard to beat. The shave today was super smooth, even with a weightless plastic razor. Three passes for an IBBS finish. Applied a generous amount of Fine Platinum for a yummy Aventus finish. I am smooth and smelling great. Have a fantastic day my friends!

    Hump day!
