    No they are not. We rode one up a steep mountain road to ancient palace/fort we were touring. Scared the crap out of me. The thing started running and passing everything. It was all we could do to hold on. I was so glad we sent Asha, only 2 years old at the time, up in a car that day. I don’t want to ride another elephant.

    I grew up on a CB350 and CB360 Hondas. All I had to do was keep the oil changed, lube and adjust the chain. Keep a little gas in the tank and ride. I had it made and did not know it.
    This is what the CB350 looked like but this is not a picture of the one I had.

    Okay, I got out the the other blade and threw it into the Durham Duplex this morning. It ended up being much better than the first one.
    For a razor with serious blade reveal, it ended up bring fairly mild, if a bit rough feeling. Four passes, and I'm not quite as smooth as I'm used to. Still diddling with the angle though. I'll probably give it another run tomorrow. Aside from the angle, the extra wide blade makes it nigh impossible to go straight across the lower neck, just like a straight razor. So daily driver it will never be. Just one more curiosity satisfied.

    For lather, a puck of TOBS lime. Hard soap, not cream. In a minion tub, because...why the hell not? And some Stirling glacial lime AS to finish it off with a freeze.

    As for the first blade? I took the razor apart to change blades, and I found:

    Yikes! I didn't realize that these are carbon steel. I'd have taken it out right away if I'd known. But that could account for it being awful from the word go. Carbon steel, of unknown age, not in original packaging. (Other than the paper sleeve.) Lesson learned.

    You need a brush to go with the tub.

    Back in the day, I believe I could've done a MAYhem stunt shave horseback. Throw a bottle of water, can of Barbasol, safety razor, and a bottle of Brut and I'd be all set. Sorry guys, no edge forward shaving devices.

    If only I knew how to wetshave then.

    Stepped right into the enabling? I like the hard pucks for the long life. I'd like to try the WTP Blue next since the lime is so good. Without reviewing what you already have I'll suggest;

    Tabac, it's the upgrade to ARKO lather. Different/better (?) scent of Old World cologne and a tub last a long time.
    Klar, not just triple - it's quintuple milled. Several scents available. If you like Cella or almond try the Mandel. Downside - small aluminum tubs.

    Rick, the performance of the WTP Blue is right in line with the Lime and Orange. The scent of the Blue to me has a slight soapy smell and not as crisp as a traditional barbershop smell. I am not very good at describing scents and I hope that helps. It still is a good scent. Charlie @wristwatchb has already suggested Tabac. I'll check out the Klar as well. I am going to hold off of purchasing anything right now. Clint @clint64 was nice enough to send me few a soaps to try and one of them is Fine L'Orange Noir. I appreciate the input and this is the second best thing about TSD. The first is the friendship and comradery, the second is what you just demonstrated...........knowlege and help. Thanks and take care!

    Andrew, I'm curious and you may have some insight since you do both use and sell merchandise. Historically premium brushes and knots were generally sourced from Great Britain, and horse from Spain. Lately China had been making synthetics in the latest colors, styles, and fibers. It's also become known that a majority of badger and boar bristle comes from China. Have you noticed if the recent increase in U.S. import tariffs affected prices?

    The elephant ride would be cool, Clint. Let's see a photo! A trip to India would be quite an adventure.
