SOTD May 20th Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap EDRIO #64 Rolls Razor EDRIO #65 Barbasol NFH Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum (4) Doug Korn Stubby (Vig Shaving 35mm, Carrier Class) Stirling Noir soap and PSB Today's knot trials feature a gigantic two band finest badger knot from Vig Shaving. Not really an apples to apples comparison since it is a so much larger then most of the other knots I will be comparing but I feel it's a pretty good representation of how the smaller Vig Shaving knots will perform. This knot is less dense the the Maggard SHD by Fair bit. But what this knot lacks in density it makes up for with sheer size. Good backbone with fantastic flow through. There is just the slightest but of scritch, probably a 2 or 3 out of 10. A 26mm knot from this manufacturer will only set you back about $20 shipped from China so it represents a fantastic budget option and comes in a little cheaper then the standard Maggard 26mm two band knot. And now for the actual shave report.I figured I'd try to get a little bit of mayhem in this week so I will be using some of my wedges. I have not been able to get a tug free shave from these blades despite attempts from several people at honing them, I'm pretty sure it's probably a technique thing but it really doesn't interest me to spend the time to get them dialed in. I did one full load with the Rolls and though it does shave the whiskers off there seems to be lots of tugging, especially the mustache and chin areas. So I did the final test passes if my shave with the Barbasol Non-Floating Head which cleaned me up nicely and was it so smooth. Three passes left me IBBS and I finished with the great smelling Noir PSB. Have a great day my friend's! Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk

Great picture and report, Andrew! Wonderful start on the knot trials! Have you set your TnS Tip knot? I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on this one. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Unfortunately it did result in chronic pain. For over 15 years my best day would be pain at a 5 or 6 on a scale of 10. Since last summer I’ve been taking cymbalta which is most often used for depression but can be used for non narcotic pain relief. Now my pain level most days is around a 1 or 2 out of 10. Gary it was rough on me but in someways rougher on the family for many of those years. I’m thankful for the relief and have always tried to enjoy myself despite the situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
