I'm Jewish. Neurotic. What do YOU think? Of course I feel guilty. Most of Yom Kippur is spent atoning for all the lather I've flushed down the drain.

Now that is funny, and the truth. ;) Throwing guilt around in my family and I was mostly the receiver. Oh, and by the way, I'm getting to the point now where I wash "some" of the lather out of my brush and let it go down the drain. :)

No, I don't feel guilty...a bit sad maybe, but not guilty.

I don't feel guilty about dumping extra lather down the drain. I feel guilty about wanting to try all these soaps.

One way to avoid making too much lather is to use a small brush.

A small brush you say.. What fun is that? Lather until the froth of foam billows over the rim of your bowl or your cup. ;)

I dont stop to think...it goes down the sink. Lather it like you stole it. Why save it for someone else to inherit it and throw the whole thing out ? I use vintage discontinued soap and enjoy the heck out of it. When I leave the world , my daughters wont know or care if its vintage/ rare and probably bin the whole works. Lather for today. You only live once .

Another way to avoid making too much lather is not to begin with too much water in your brush. Soak your brush, shake out most of the water, and load enough soap for your shave. Then keep adding a bit of water at a time as you keep stirring with your brush until you get the desired consistency. Experience will teach you how much soap to load. If your brush contains too much water when you begin loading it, you'll need too much soap to make the lather sufficiently thick.

I'm still learning. I was 73 years old before I owned my first brush and all of the brushes that I have react differently to lathering. One day, just one day I'll learn. ;)
