I think I’m having as much fun reading what others have done with the box as I had going through it myself.
I decided on the Stirling shave soap and a no name DE razor that actually performed well for me. I liked the Marvel razor, but ultimately decided it was just a shade more aggressive than I would like. I also kept one of the boar brushes out of necessity, I just couldn’t get it in the box with the things I added. I wanted to keep the vintage Old Spice after shave, but used it one time and sent it on, to give others a chance to sample what Old Spice used to be. I’ll always have a bottle of Old Spice on hand, but the vintage really had a nice fragrance.
The marvel was great on the cheeks but raised havoc on my neck. The way of the box is to take something extra to make the blasted thing close.
Does it smell like a laundry room exploded? In a good way, of course. There's one on top of the pile I'm curious about. Wickham 1912, and I think it's Scottish Heather. I'm interested in trying the soap. The scent description lists; top notes: Green Grass, Anise, heart notes: Hyssop (bitter mint), Thyme and Cedar, & base notes: Oak and Moss. When you get to sniffing, can you let me know if it's strong on the licorice? Everything else sounds spicy minty woody vetiver. I might request saving me a sample, but not a big fan of licorice.
I'd like to scoop a little of both myself. Haven't had the pleasure of testing the soap bases. Just read that Penhaligon’s has quit making hard soaps.
Wow ...... First question is how’d you get that toaster in that box. Second is that how you get a hot lather?
