Inanimate objects tend to get named at our house. If an opportunity for a pun exists, it will get used. Our Hoover vacuum, for instance, is Herbert. This weekend, my husband gifted my with a very nice new sewing machine, for my upcoming 60th birthday. As it is a larger-than-average machine, by Brother, its name is Orwell.

This ventilation unit is named 'Bender'..

I hope nobody bites his shiny metal ***.
