  7. DC2523EB-48A4-4B92-A4D9-F4B03CD8D2F4.jpeg My birthday shave:

    L’Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Wilkinson TTO/new Astra Green
    Tcheon Fung Sing Sottozero SS
    Prep ASB
Reef Point Fougere Santal AS Splash
    Givenchy Gentleman EdT

I can’t believe it - another year has passed and I’m officially a golden ager. This shave was such a pleasure thanks to this wonderful razor loaded with my favorite brand of blades. The word sottozero means “below zero” in Italian but this Sottozero soap’s menthol effect is actually very mild - in fact it’s not even as strong as Proraso Green, but I can easily forgive that because it smells very nice, it gives great lather, and it leaves a comfortable postshave feeling. The Prep delivered its beautiful cooling, soothing care, and the Fougere Santal aftershave from Reef Point that my lovely wife bought me as a gift two years ago went on icy cold with its own awesome scent. We’re going to a golf and country club resort which some friends of ours invited us to so we can celebrate my birthday!
  8. Thank you, sir.

I must confess. This morning's struggle er, I mean "shave" was very disappointing. While changing out blades for my weekly shave, I came upon a single Shark blade that must have been in a sample pack from years ago. So I loaded it in a RazoRock Old Type which I normally use for cleaning up the back of my neck as it's a very mild razor and it minimizes my chances of drawing blood. Figured I'd give that combo a try this AM. Not sure if it was the blade, the razor or the combination but it just didn't cut it. Two passes then MAJOR touch-ups and I still feel substantial stubble in areas. I'll continue to use it as before but it ain't gettin' near my mug again.

    Cream: LaToja
    Brush: Omega S10065
    Bowl: $Tree salsa
    Razor: RazoRock Old Type OC
    Blade: Shark (1 and done)
    Aftershave: Pinaud VIBR

  13. I used to get a "clunker" every once in a while. They're so cheap, that I never had a slightest regret binning it.
