Autostrop A1, modified gem stainless ptfe blade, shave 3. Another partially finished blade shave. Closer shave than the VB1 for sure except for that one shave where I skipped a day then these razors are about evenly matched. This one is smoother and more aggressive though the aggressiveness maybe partially due to how the blade is loading on this. The razor itself is not 100% straight. The open comb and tabs are straight but the push bar has a slight bend in it. I may have also grinded the tabs on the blade a little bit too much and that little bit of wiggle could be enough to keep the blade pushing in slightly on one side. This shave cut me up pretty good with a lot of small nicks on the ATG pass and I think this is the reason why. Shave is right there with the best razors I own regardless of all this. I'll finish up the blade in the VB1 first to do a back to back comparative before finishing out the blade on this razor.

Sun 26th May RazoRock Syn. 24mm P & B Spitfire Gem Micromatic- Brass Gem S/S [ 5 ] P & B Spitfire A/S Splash Not exactly the right choice for a relaxed Sunday morning Shave, as the Micromatic requires to be treated with respect whilst Shaving. Having said that the shave went well without mishap and was a lot smoother than the one with a Starling yesterday. The quality of finish delivered by the MicroMatic is always very good and takes some beating, neither the Sabre L1 or the ATT SE-G / Stirling deliver better shaves.
SE Sunday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Morning TOST Oscar11 Synthetic J.A. Henckels Henckels wedge CWR Barbasol Brisk My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Morning TOST Shave Soap face lathered well with the Oscar11 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the J.A. Henckels Lather Catcher razor with a Henckels wedge blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Barbasol Brisk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

No sir, unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective, it is not available any longer. It was a one time production for the forum across the street. Here is the thread about it, if you would like to read all about it. http://theoriginalsafety2.com/thread/3584/morning-tost-shave-official-thread?page=2 Also, if you want to see the SOTD pics of the soap here is the thread for that http://theoriginalsafety2.com/thread/3599/morning-tost-shave-day
Autostrop VB1, modified gem stainless ptfe blade, shave 6. Maybe it is my technique or lather or something else but this shave was just as good as the prior shave with the A1 and best shave yet with this razor. Major difference is no cuts or irritation unlike with the A1. Of all the Autostrops I've used thus far I will say that this one is my favorite.
Monday 27th May Cold Water Shave Vitos Preshave Cream OSP Grapefruit and Menthol Shaving Soap Semogue 'Taj' Badger/Boar Brush Gem Featherweight Razor with a Treet Carbon Blade Mentholated Witch Hazel Dove Moisturiser Epsilon Blue AS The Treet blades give a good shave....but it is a little off putting how quickly the main body of the blade tarnishes despite a coating of Ballistol. I don't think I will be restocking. 3 passes for a perfect finish and it is off to the Hay Festival for a talk on the D-Day Landings!
Mon 27th May Jayaruh Syn. 67 Cyril salter Solid soap Ever Ready Natural Angle Gem S/S [ 5 ] Massimo Dutti A/S Lotion Getting near the end of this rotation , so used this British equivalent of a G bar. Despite its looks and the fact it feels good in the hand, it somehow feels a little harsh and does not for me deliver the smoothest and closest of Shaves. In fact I reckon that I got a better finish recently with the quite new to me Starling, on the OC plate.
