Joseph, your Dovo 91 is a bellied hollow. If you get the light reflection right you can see where the blade thickens about 1/8" away from the edge. Makes part of a great shaver IMO.
Wonderful photo and shave Jim. I hope you have a restful holiday weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You’re welcome Joseph, having one or many of each is a good idea. they all shave differently some vastly, and some just slightly.
True! I find that with a brand new DE blade, you wouldn't have that problem. However, the straight has on average 40 - 60 shaves before honing is needed. It is possible that your straight is losing its sharpness and you will still get a good shave, but not a full dead-on BBS.
I appreciate what you are saying, but I keep count for 2 reasons. First, it has been considered gospel that when you hit 100 shaves with a shavette or a SR that you have achieved proficiency or mastery. Second, having 100 shavette shaves and 100 SR shaves is an accomplishment that I aspire to and it gives me some street cred in the shaving community. With that said, I will not consider to be a master in SR and shavette shaving until I have 1000 shaves for each tool. So, at the rate that I am going, it will take me another 8.3 yrs to reach that milestone which would be 9.3 years from my 1st shavette shave.
My not-then-but-now Ex left me in charge of a pregnant Bichon Frise. I'd had a policy with our children; Get male pets instead of females because they're less expensive to get em fixed, or if not neutered the boys don't "have" babies. So there I am never having been a midwife to a birthing. Four pups with one survivor. You already told us his name. (Stock photo, not him.) I honor your achievement! Being able to document your Shave Journey lends credence to your opinions, too. Keep it real!
