I bought a cartridge razor. Don't hate me, I don't plan to use it.

Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.

 

Well its better than calling them Thing 1 and Thing 2. oops! Happy belated birthday Dr. Seuss!

 

I have about 4 of them, one sensor I got 10 or so years ago, and 3 or so others I got for free so I'd get roped into buying more carts for them.
They are NIB and gonna be worth a lot :rofl

 

So I found my camera, but not the usb cord, so I can't show off any of the goodies I have gotten lately.

They do take more work to run.. BBS is a myth for me. Even if I do it only last a few hours with this beard., so why bother.

Hi kids. I keep having to run back and forth to the pharmacy. The little one is coughing and hacking up yuckies today. Another doc appt. tomorrow. Tis the season.

I keep one generic 4 blade cartridge at work for emergencies. When I first started w/ the DE I would have patches of stuff left over that I wouldn't find until I got to work. I would pick and stroke at them until I was raw and in pain. I used the cartridge to get rid of the temptation. Haven't needed it now for several months though. That's good news.

 

I picked up an Old in an antique shop a couple of weeks ago for $3. Cleaned it, sanitized it, polished it... and shaved with it. I'd only ever shaved with a '49 and a '56 SS before that. It was agressive, but I also used a 'bad from the box' Gillette blade, so it was a larnin' experience (ouch). Next time, I'll try it with a feather and see how things go. I actually think I'll like it a bunch...

Tom my waterman is leaking all over the nib, how hard it it to take the section off a 52V, does it pull right out usually. I wonder if the sac is bad or something.

Personally I think the wally world blades work just fine. But I put a 7 o'clock. whichever one was in the green wrapper.. into my OLD and man oh man that was nice... I hope you enjoy yours as much.

 

You do have to pay more attention when you are using open combs than the safety razors, especially places where there is a lot of contour on the face, like the jaw line, around the lips, neck...

You're right; those are the places that came out the most hamburgerish (is that a word?). Aside from the junk blade, I was also going though a "I can do this, it's easy" phase, so wasn't being nearly careful enough. Next time, it will be wonderful...

Tom, I usually don't go to be till at least midnight usually more like 1 or 2.

 

You know I have notices most of the folks on the shaving forums have some facial hair, I would have thought nearly everyone would be BBS all over the face 24/7

 

If I am not mistaken it was fairly common for men to have facial hair of some kind when these razors were made.. the older stuff I mean. I have worn a goatee for years. I use to grow a beard in the winter., i do not do that anymore as I would miss the shaves too much
