    Tabac~~Simpson PJ3~~Wade & Butcher
    SR #93

Took the W&B to the soft and hard Arkansas stones this morning.
Taped the spine and with mineral oil as the lubricant, I probably did 20-25 passes with each stone.
    Finished on the SRD strop.
Results: Honestly, I am not sure I felt any
    difference at all.
ATG on the chin, where the hair is the coarsest, was still "draggy".
Not a rough shave, by any means, just not that, what many shavers call: "buttery".
    I want buttery too! :angry017:

I did, however, achieve a superlative lather with the Persian Jar and the Tabac.
    Doesn't this lather look yummy?

Shiniest Tabac lather I have ever created.
Pretty darn wet, too. Lot's of lather-dripping today.

Daily straight-razor shaves are challenging. Its been discussed ad nauseam, but a blade has an easier time
cutting through a longer shaft of hair, than it does one that barely peeks out from the skin.
Nevertheless less, smooth results over 90% of my beard area.
Alum/Thayer's/Tabac AS completed a very pleasant shave.

  7. Thanks, Danny. Tabac is one of those soaps, like MWF, Williams, Arko, that should be tried by every shaver.

  8. I must say, I'm getting interested in that MWF. Natural Lanolin....makes me wonder if the original Rise cream had that kind of lanolin.

Next up for neglected razors is this MMOC. Not sure when the last time I used it was actually. Whipped up an outstanding lather and had a pleasant 3 pass shave. One tiny weeper on my lower neck when I went atg, but overall a pretty smooth shave with this shaver. I'm not perfect on my lower neck and I think I'll spend a few more days with this razor.
    Have a great day all!
