Morning everyone. Looks like you were all very busy last night. I didn't get a chance to get on. The whole family had haircuts last night and then the wife and I did a quick touchup on the house. My folks are traveling from NE today to visit their grandson. Oh yeah, they might even see me. On Sunday the wife and I will be detoxing our son since NO won't have been in the vocabulary for a few days.

I have come to the conclusion that TSD AS milk is my favorite "Just had a jacked up shave" product. It soothes so well! I even had to pull the styptic pencil out for this one. I am just not one to stop in the middle of a shave a switch out blades? Hell with feathers. Heading to the store to pick some London Broil for some more Jerky. Rolls wants a ton of the stuff so will see what I can find. Its not getting any cheaper though:(

Hello everyone. YAY! State testing is done for another month... then we start the process all over again! Woo hoo.... ?

I need an empty 3 liter this afternoon for Science Olympiad project, couldn't find one in store's yesterday, but found one this morning. It is such as shame to waste that much pop, but I am not sure my kidneys are up to this anymore. There was one point in time where I would just drink straight out of the 3 liter and drain it during the college day. Yup, that weird kid with the huge bottle of pop that would drink it during one class - that was me....

Good deal, but why do you have to test again in a month??

Ahhh, so you were the guy.
But where did you get a 3 liter bottle of soda? That is huge!!!!!:D

Ahh... We spent almost a week with the old ISTEP in the fall. This was the last year for the fall test. But this year is also the fist year the we have a spring ISTEP to test what the students have learned during the year before they forget over the summer. Yes, we just started March and the kids just took a 3.5 day test over what they learned over the entire year. Yup, makes good sense. The kids were real happy when they hit questions that they haven't learned about yet.

Anyway, this was the writing and problem solving portion where they have to read and hand grade every single problem manually. So, we take this part in early March in order to have the test results in by the end of the year (which they won't be this year...). Then in Late April, we will spend another 3.5 days taking the objective questions that can just be run through a scanner to grade. So, this year we will lose three weeks of instructional time to take state testing.

I used to be able to find 3-liters in about every store and in almost every brand. Now only one local store has that size and all they have in Faygo. Well.. I better pour another glass, I still have 2 liters of Faygo Moon Mist to get through... :D :eatdrink013 By the end of the day... I might be a little caffeinated...

Actually.. I should probably be more worried about the calories... 13 servings at 120 cal each... well... I won't need to eat today. :D

well, it looks like Dallas has the ability now to potentially move up a few spots on my list...
(for reference, they are currently the bowels, they're that low...not that they've ever been high, mind you, but they're hardly ever dead last, and it has nothing to do with performance...)

I never knew such a thing existed as 3 liters of soda.

I guess stanadardized testing makes everyone feel good, (if they do well)
but when do you have time to actually learn stuff?

Faygo, we don't get that much out here, I sometimes get a bottle when I get Oprah's favorite fried chicken, Ezells' fried chicken

I have been a Cowboys fan for a very long time. Since the acquistion of Owens I haven't been much of a fan. Now that he is gone, I will be a fan again. Now Owens can go and make some other teams' fans mad.:happy088

Well.. don't you know... if we keep testing and testing and testing, they will improve. At least that is what all the tests show.

Yup... 3 weeks lost to State testing plus one week lost to local testing, and an occasional few days for national tests like the NAEP (which we just did as well). A month out of the school year is nothing but standardized tests. We just need to "be more efficient with our time and tighten the belt loop another notch".

Good riddance. Problem is, ESPN chatterboxes still NSFW all over him, so he'll turn up somewhere by the end of the draft. He won't go away until someone goes Jack Tatum or George Atkinson on his ass.

standardized tests are a very accurate measure.

of how well students perform on standardized tests.

    yep, it's a crock....keep reading...
    yup...
just got this in an email...probably will never fly, it creates holes in the wrong peoples' wallets to get rid of state testing, and afterall, that's what public education is all about, forcing kids, teachers, and staff to meet a bunch of criteria so some big-wigs somewhere can buy another yacht, meanwhile, we can barely afford gas to get to our school, and 7th graders can't even count out change for a Frostie at Wendy's...
    yeah

oh, and nice avatar Micah, is it yours?
