Cartel rules for basic stuff - Avon would qualify, as it was a "non-luxury" and commonly found item. Or, perhaps, still is though I haven't seen a real Avon lady in years. There was a booth at a local flea market a few years ago when I was with ADT and set up a table there. The lady who owned it said she sold more there than any door to door efforts anymore. I was surprised to even see the name out and about.

Shaving the night before would mitigate your situation. However, if your beard grows very quickly, then I would say that you got a problem.

I feel my heart warming seeing all of those classics. And the pain sticks just put the exclamation on it!

I do shave the night before. I work flex shifts( revolving day and night). It is common to have less than 7-8 hours at home between shifts.

I agree Jim. We have people that would never take care of their homes at all without the HOA. I just wish the HOA would tell you everything at once and then give you time to fix the things. Last month it was new pine straw. 125 bales later and several hundred dollars poorer that was done. This month the damn mailbox. I just hope they are done for now.

I get what your saying. Personally, I get get away with shaving every 36 hours when I use a straight. I could not see myself SR shaving every 24 hours because my stubble is now white and doesn't look as unclean as when it was dark brown. I guess that is one of my perks as I have hit senior citizen status.

This el-cheapo does perform quite well and I agree that angle acquisition is much easier than with an SS. The Feather DX and its clone, the CJB, along with the Kai Captain and this clone all have that standard blade holder without the "safety lip". Makes the angle much easier to find and hold and I don't find them any more difficult or dangerous to use than the supposedly safer SS.

Thanks Joseph, but I don't! Although I am computer literate, I still like the old school ways.

I used to buy Black Suede powder and aftershave/cologne from an Avon Lady. What a marvelous scent! Now that you reminded me, I think I am going to get it.

Absolution is hereby granted. Very nice setup providing the perfect evidence of how "ordinary" and "basic" gear just flat works.

Your razors must be quite sharp.
    I do 3 - 4 passes with a Feather in a shavette.
