Just got the report for winter in Boston. Overall, the winter was colder than average, wetter than average, and snowier than average (23.7" more than average and the 4th snowiest winter on record).

 

I have no idea what that means. I don't watch any of those shows.

Just settling in at work. Had a decent shave today with the NEW....we'll see how it goes. Actually quite nice and BBS...

 

Congrats with the BBS shave with the NEW. I went for the bullet MM today. It wasn't a bad shave, but it wasn't a close shave. Its like shaving with a safety bar again... oh wait... it practically is.

Oh well.. I may just swap out that blade into a 1912 or the open-comb MM.

This morning's shave has effectively killed any lingering interest in the quality of the old Blues and Thins. The Blue in the Tech was less painful, but no less awful. Tried to manage some sort of rescue with the Thin in the red tip. No dice.

 

Sorry to hear about the poor performance of these blades.
Can you post an image of these in the "worst you have tried" thread so I know what to avoid?

 

I had heard good things about the thins, but blues are bad news. Carbon steel does not age well.

The Thins that got good reviews across the street were much newer than the ones I have. They used 70s-80s era Thins, which are a different animal than the 50s vintage. Those still suck per their review.

I knew this was a possibility going in, so I'm considering it a lesson learned and something we can all look back on and laugh about.

 

Rodd - I see in the SOTD you tried the Anherb Conditioner A/S. How'd you like it?

Bong sent me a sample, and I tell you it's quickly becoming my favorite A/S. I think I may have to spring for a bottle soon....sample lasted a long time, but is running low. I like the gel, too, but not as much. Maybe I haven't tried it enough yet....
