Can't quite answer that as I am flummoxed by all things MP. However, to my knowledge all Merkur open-comb heads are the same. They perform different due to different handles. If a Merkur head is on the MP, I would assume that would be the same. But, you know what Benny tells us happens when we assume...

 

We shouldn't be talking about pushing the mouse's buttons here. Some people might look at us funny.

 

People already do... what do we care? We are vintage razor addicts and wet-shavers!

 

They were fatip heads, then the 09s started using the Mekur/EJ heads. I haven't heard anything about going back, but I haven't been paying too close of attention.

 

I'm deeply confused so I thought I'd ask. I think you are correct about the Merkur OC's all being the same, just different handle styles.

Too late, I think they already do.

 

Sorry, missed this earlier. The head on the 11c is the same. The different weight, and weight distribution of the handles makes them feel slightly different, but the head is identical.

 

Only two shaves on the R89, and I was changing other variables. However, I would put in on par with an Old Style based on those two shaves. I will go back and try it again next week with soaps that I have tested more often and know what to expect. Too many new things to try all at once. I need to stop doing this and wait until something is thoroughly investigated before buying something else.

 

Thanks Rodd, that leaves one less thing to track down. Ok now I just need(want) to get my paws on an old R41/R89

I'm going on a plane for the first time today and I must admit I'm really nervous about it. A plane crashed recently in Buffalo on it's way from NYC.

 

Laid Off

After 26 years with NEC Electronics America Inc, I have been laid off with 27% of the company's workforce. This was yesterday. Wish us luck because the house is $100K under water, the horse equipment business failed with $80K debt and my wife is in need of some important surgery. The good news is the serverance package gives us a little breathing room. I have to hit the ground running on the job search. Nice economy huh?

It might help to keep in mind that plane mishaps are very rare, and your crew will be especially dilligent because of that recent crash. You can be sure they know about it and that they will make sure it doesn't happen to your plane.

True.. That sounds like a plan... as long as I don't have a really bad shave causing irritation, I might do that this weekend. I have the place to myself, just me and the dog until Sunday night - maybe Monday.

yeah, I'm just concerned because although plane crashes are rare... they aren't very survivable. I know I'm just being silly but stuff like this makes me nervous
