I agree.... but then again, I am not one of them..

I tend not to ride my bike when there is ice on the road. Even yesterday with temps in the 60's I ran into patches of ice (with melted water on top) when going for a walk with the dog. I doubt it will all be melted by tomorrow. I can still see piles of snow outside the window.

I've had an almost full McDonald's soda thrown at me and a can of soda thrown at me from teenagers in cars and a few drive-by shout outs too.

I've seriously considered carrying/attaching a pellet gun on my bike, but I'm sure I'd get arrested or something if I did.

    Yes, I am quoting myself:

As a side note... no, I don't think joggers are crazy. Just those who jog in the middle of the road when there is snow/ice on the road and driving control is minimal. I've got nothing against walkers, joggers, and/or bicyclists and I am often a member of at least one of those groups. And I understand the feeling that it is our road just as much as it is the road for the cars. And I understand that sidewalks/footpaths are often not an option. However, jogging in ice/snow is just crazy.

I've always thought that treadmills were made for just such a circumstance. Granted, they're not as good as the outdoors, but they sure are safer than running through snow, ice, and slush!

You guys need to mount mini-guns on your handlebars.

Bet the teenagers leave you alone then.

I drive a pony cart during the summer months and the things people do are unreal. Luckily, Ichabod is a calm boy with many years experience. (see him in my lil pic up there) Every year we have a couple of incidents. I carry my cell phone and call the police but I'd REALLY like a nice grenade launcher

    :(

no straights waiting for me....I guess they'll be in tomorrow.

Probably for the best, tomorrow morning at 0400 hrs probably wouldn't be the best time for my first straight shave....

Just found out I was not picked for the Denver transfer. There are other slots coming in the next few months, but I was hoping for this one. <sigh> More waiting.

    :( Shep.

Found me some Clubman bay rum. Last bottle in the store. Mine. :)

They also had Lilac Vegetal. One had the seal opened. I had to check it out. Smelled like rancid animal pee.

Lilac Vegetal is animal urine! :sick007

The Bay Rum should last you awhile (you got the big bottle right?). Mine has barely a dent after 6 mos. Of course BR is not something I reach for everyday. It be good stuff though.

The W&B and Wostenholm - from being honed by Glen. The Barber's Favorite (I think that's the one you were referring to...) by Frass and the Griffon "05" are still in my friend's tumbler...

 Oh, dude. That sucks big time. I'm really sorry to hear that.
I love me the Pinaud Bay Rum. I do not think you're the first person to use the descriptive phrase "rancid animal pee" when referring to the Lilac Vegetal.:sick007

That's probably the one I was referring to.

Matt did you ever find a source for the brass rod and washers?

Sorry about the transfer Shep. I thought you had make up your mind that AZ was pretty good place to be now.

Thanks for the "sorry's". Me and mine are just ready to move on. Once you get that in your head, you just want it to happen and not dink around playing the waiting game. I'm gonna keep trying for Denver, but if it doesn't go I'll be looking for other opportunities elsewhere. Gonna stay west though, I'm a west'ern type boy. Oregon and Washington both intrigue me.

EDIT: There's nothing wrong per se w/ PHX Bong. It's a nice city with plenty going on. It's just played for me. Been here 12 years and that's as long as I've lived anywhere since leaving home. So being ready to move on combined w/ some management issues at work mean it's time to mosey on. Thanks.

Locally, I found a hobby shop that had 3 - 12" long 1/16" brass rod for $1.35. I haven't found any washers locally, yet. www.microfasteners.com seems to have a good selection at reasonable prices for the washers. That's also the place to get the fancy connectors.

I can understand that Shep. Truth be told, I'd have probably left the Baltimore area for out west a long time ago. We've been back here since '97 and my loathing for the area grows each year. But, I'm in a position where I have a decent retirement (50% @ 20 years, +2% per year after 20) but I can't carry it with me anywhere, unlike you. It is what it is. I've got at least 10 more to go, plus I'll get 3 years for my military time, so it's not too bad of a deal. Heh, I could be retired at 47. :D

I actually took a two week course in Baltimore back in 2001/2 Matt. I liked that waterfront area near downtown. Downtown itself was a war zone, but what the hell...I wasn't living there. I enjoyed my trip, but I know living and visiting are two very different things.
