I'm sure I wasn't clear. Let me try it this wayt When I had Williams, I would put the soap in the mug, then wet the soap with warm/hot water while showering, then let the water out of the mug. I figured I could then take a brush to the Williams and proceed with the shave. Obviously the Stoylin soap looks different and has the colder temperature. After unwrapping the plastic from the Stoylin, do I need to moisten it with what I would figure to be cold water to protect the cold temperature of the soap, then let the water out and take the brush to it(as with the Williams)?OR...do I just moisten the brush with cold water and take it right to the soap? The soap size is 4.5, thus not a normal size inside a puck.
The cold comes from menthol in the soap. So hot or cold water doesn't matter. I like to use a Mentholated soap in a hot scuttle. Warm lather that makes your face feel cold is an interesting sensation!
I think you're overthinking it. If what you do with Williams works for you, then it will work with Stirling too. The"cold" from the menthol isn't really cold. It just tricks your nerve endings. It won't fool a thermometer.
Thank you for the explanation Frijolero. I, for one, didn't know how menthol works until now. I'm always learning something new in TSD and particularly on this board.

No middleman???? I must be confusing you for someone else. But I thought the aftershave was from the other site as it just says Glacial Sharp Dressed Man...I figured Doc Ezlovan would have written the Eskimo Tuxedo on that, too.
John it appears I set you up for a menthol lesson(chuk yuk yuk).....not that I'm not learning things too.
As for summer Stoylin use of my current soaps, I think Ramblin Man will work, but not so sure about Baker St.
You can get Glacial Sharp Dressed Man aftershave. I didn't do Eskimo Tuxedo labels for them being the reason why. For the non- standard Glacial aftershaves, we just add the menthol and slap a Glacial sticker on there.
