Wonderfully smooth shave tonight, from an old German Razor. I had a great 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Fantastic razor. Razor- W.H.Morley & Sons, Clover Brand. Hamburg Ground Germany. Full Hollow. Brush- Stirling Boar Soap- ARKO/Sandalwood scented Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman
Friodur 8/8 extra long full hollow: Not only is this razor a big girl at 8/8 but it is a little longer than the normal straight. The amazing thing about this razor is that despite it's size and hollow grind there is no flex. It also takes and keeps a very sharp edge.
Lovely ERN ATOR Tom I hope to have mine done by the 4th of July .I get back from Europe on June 30th .Now I have to pick my Wedding Day Straight for this Weekend .Leaning Towards my 7/8 Tiger with Thumb Notch . Regards Mike
I was going to say, that looks like a “14,” then I zoomed in on the tail... Man, I love that shape!!!!
Salamander 5/8 again. This is a German made circa 1920-1925 product. Normally you will see wedge type Salamanders. The concave not so much.
Beautiful Henckles 14s @Keithmax and @Jamie Mahoney Cape 2000 today, one of the more hollow Japanese razors, soap was MdC agrumes lathered with a TOBS brush, and a little Myrsol Agua de Limon was a perfect compliment to the soap.
Used this...first time ever trying out a straight. Only did one cheek, but will work on it as time goes by. Also waiting for 2 vintage ones to get back from honing. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I'm not familiar with that razor. Any more info on it?? How did the shave feel?? Smooth, or tugging??
Since it was my first ever attempt...not real qualified to say much except that it felt pretty smooth. It is a new old stock of the small manufacturer J.A.Schmidt&Sons in Solingen, Germany. I acquired it in a trade direct from Germany. It has the rosewood scales and is a 6/8 blade. Balance feels good to a novice. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
