  2. Cheers. It's a super nice shaver. I liked it enough that I had Chris at RazorPlate clean it up and give it a fresh coat of Nickel a few years ago.

    Good afternoon, guys!
My next pick out of the hat was the '59 Fatboy (E2). The blade was a Rockwell.
Used my Omega Pro 49 to lather Moon Soap Havana soap. Two passes, touch ups gave me an IBSS++. I enjoyed this shave and it was comfortable. Finished with Old Spice AS.
    Have a great day, guys!

  8. +1! I'm a little color blind, but Jim's photos are well coordinated.

Now, on to this brown issue...
Finding myself vacillating between secondary & primary caregiver to a 3-1/2 year old, the color of your socks is a minor problem. Here's a handy chart you can print and hang near your laundry basket or washing machine. Sometimes the outside water hose is the answer. (Graphic left as a thumbnail for those that may be sensitive to biological disasters.)

  12. Thank you Gary! I suspect it's available in most shave supply dealers in Italy.
Thanks Jim! If TOBS is the British version of Proraso, I just might have some little samples... Gotta go pull out that box of soaps I don't use!
Thanks Clint! Biggest part now it knowing when to quit. I'll still get the occasional nick if I go easy trying for that last little bit passed CCS.
Thanks Andrew! Having some previous open blade training, I'm making it look easy.
    Thanks Joe! ;)
Thanks Danny! I chose to take it on and I am having fun. Yup, with friends like these, yadda yadda.

First chance to post after a very long day. Still going with the humble Tech, and another ‘basic’ Omega knot. According to @NCoxSTL, Tabac counts as Basic as well, so I pulled it out today after a very long hiatus. I got a really nice lather with the Tabac- It is truly a top tier lather. It dawned on me today what it is about the scent. I’ve agreed with the usual analogy- stuck on the bottom of an elderly lady’s purse right beside the certs. However, what I have come to realize about the scent is that it reminds me of something else. It reminds me of the mid to late 70s, even though I know it was produced since the 50s. I wasn’t around then, but I was in Elementary school in the mid to late 70s. Why the 70s? Because when I smell Tabac, I am reminded of Brown polyester, of fake wood panelling, of macrame hangers, of the smell of shag carpet as you are wresting on it with your buddies and your face gets pressed into it, of leather purses, of certs and of TVs in veneered cabinets. That is what Tabac means to me, fwiw.
I contemplated making this a true basic shave and finishing with Clubman, but I remembered I was driving out of town for a few hours with a colleague, and since I consider him a friend I couldn’t subject him to a Tabac/Clubman combo. That was a sign of compassion on my part.
    Have a great night all!
