  1. June 8th
Canadian PreWar Tech w Polsilver (1)
    Stirling Gin and Tonic
    Simpson CH2 Synthetic
    Thayers
    Enhanced Florida Water

Switched up the Techs to a prewar version. Will use it all week to keep the ‘basics’ focus going. Hadn’t used a Polsilver in quite some time. No real reason, just hadn’t grabbed one. Rectified that today.
Like @Primotenore, I spent all day trying to catch up with getting the garden planted. Cold and wet day, but I think I got done what I needed to today. Came in and had a nice shave before making dinner. SWMBO is on a school band trip to Toronto (what a great time to be there with the city in full Raptors frenzy), but the kids were a good help today.
The G&T probably doesn’t count as basic, and the Simpson definitely doesn’t, but at least the razor and AS are on focus. Another solid shave with a Tech. I ended a nice 3 pass shave with a little neck irritation, but I chalk that up to being outside all day and then shaving right away. Still a top tier result.
    Have a great night all!

  3. I've got a nice strop, a vintage Barber's hone, a Wade & Butcher wedge, a W.H.Morley, a Torrey, a Clauss, several lesser known SR's, and a honest idea about my current honing skills. The stones I use to maintain my kitchen knives are too coarse for any but a rough bevel set. I've sharpened blades on a wood planer using a diamond file but that experience only remotely applies. I do keep my eyes open for that mythological and so far unseen box of rock at resale shops. It kind of defeats my "getting cheaper shaves" idea if I order a series of progressive stone that cost more than all my other razors collectively.
  4. thank you sir, on of my first favorites..doesn't see much face time since my tech/oc craze..

    06/08/2019 - Shave #4 for June

RazoRock 400 Noir Plissoft Synthetic Shaving Brush
Salsa Bowl / Timeless Lather Bowl Scuttle
    Fine Accoutrements – Snake Bite
    Astra SP
    Gillette “1932” Canada Tech
Univinlions (Kai Clone) with Feather Pro Blade
    Nivea Post Balm

I broke out the Canadian Tech in honor of our resident Canadian, Gary @brit. The little Tech is a good shaver but I did get a few weepers on the RH side of the neck. The alum was a little warm.

The Univinlions completed two passes on the cheeks and under the bottom lip. Shaving with the pain stick is coming easier. The alum was quiet on the cheeks. The more I use Fine Accoutrements soaps the more I like the their soap.

Finished up with some Nivea post balm . Busy day in Alabama and now I need to get caught up on TSD. That will give me something to do in the morning. Y’all have a great weekend!

  15. I'm in the same county of Colorado as @jluc. At my place, the ping-pong size was popular for about twenty minutes today. It was not frozen very thoroughly, so I'm hoping the roof made it. The stones seemed to be breaking upon impact with ease.
  16. Thank you, Clint.
