I'm having a decent day around here. The green rooibos tea is the best of the 2. I found some at the shop in town :)

    yay! somebody gets me!

actually, it's been awhile since I tried sumatra, I wanted to like it better, but didn't at the time.
but, I also didn't like foxit at first....or Firefox, or Opera...still haven't tried PDF X-Change Viewer, so maybe I will soon, and try sumatra again

but Foxit is so much funner in the name itself, can be really misleading

What's up homey's? Had a pretty good weekend off. Hung around, took care of errands, cleaned up the yard, lazed around the house. Generally low key and low maintenance.

Spent some time getting a Facebook page up and running. Don't know what good it will do or how much time I will be spending, but I already hooked up w/ a few high school folks. Lot's of them seem to be living in Denver as it's pretty close to where we grew up. Grrrrrr....coulda been me!

Bought a new digital cam and took some sweet shave den pics over there too. The price on those things just keeps on dropping. 3 yrs. ago I got a Sony 3.5 megapixel point and shoot for around 300 bucks. Yesterday I get a Nikon 8 megapixel for 100! Pretty sweet camera.

    So what's up?

Whats happening Shep! You think you can do a pictorial for the IM for us? You should have done a pictorial on grating soaps down since there seems to be some skeptics here. You could also throw some new Shep pics in as well;)

Oh yeah. And I wasn't impressed w/ the Merkur open comb. Never did get a close or comfortable shave using it. It lacks weight for one thing. There may be other issues too that are involved like head shape, comb configuration and all that. Whatever...I didn't like it. The vintage Gillettes do the job better.

Hey Shawn. I only just got a new camera yesterday. The kids lost my old one :angry019. There was a milling tutorial around somewhere wasn't there? Anyway I don't have anything left to mill now. Could buy a cheap puck of VDH I suppose. You could check Facebook for new Shep pics! :D

    shep,
know you arent into all the glycerine soaps but QED Vetiver and Special 218 are out of this world! Dr.Mike gifted some samples for me. The vetiver is .....well.....vetiver and the 218 is a blend of vetiver and other goodies. Yeah I know....no more glycerine.

At first when Bong mentioned sumatra, I was thinking maybe coffee? Now I'm thinking a browser add on or something?

There's nothing wrong w/ glycerin as an ingredient. The problem for me is the straight glycerin pucks that don't include other goodies like clay, tallow, veggie fats and so on. They just don't shave right. I'm done w/ them. Hell Shawn, even the clay soaps didn't perform up to snuff for me for the most part. Except the TSD. She has something in there that does the trick for me. I've found the few soaps that work for me and the rest is creams. In the end it's more than enough to last me forever!

All that said I'm a big believer in newbs buying and trying all the great glycerin soaps out there. They are cheap and available so why not give them a go? Oh yeah...for some reason the Mama Bear glycerin soaps do work pretty well. She must also have some secret ingredient that works.

I love Mama Bears soaps....the scents are what pulled me in. I am down to only 4 tubs of the MB now. I was up to 9 at one time.
