    June Basics / Kami-shavette Focus

    Vintage Williams stick
    B-400 / Omega 98 boar
    Suribachi and cool water
    Univinlions Salon razor
    Feather AC Pro blade
    Generic Blue aftershave
    SOTD 06122019.gif If I'm drinking the KoolAid, I want the original in the paper and foil packets that fill your nose with concentrated Red dye #2. Or Williams from the '60's. So I wet my face with the dampened brush. Rubbed the stick around trying to see soap clinging to the stubble, but it refused to show. When I hit the beard with boar bristle a meager lather sprang up. Not happy with the quantity a rub across the textured bowl with the stick left some slivers behind. Agitation and water did produce more lather & when combined with the inadequate face lather evened out. Enough for two passes and no flddling clean up this time. No errors, a decent CCS with few missed zones. This fifth shave on the second blade, twelfth with the blade holder rivals a rushed shave with an aggressive DE for closeness. I do believe I like this razor.

    Williams can be deceiving. Big foamy lather then dies down to a pale film. I think we all drank the Koolaid from old ads showing a white beard of lather when it really comes down to all that matters is the soap provides a slick surface to let the blade glide . My cousin used to shave with a bar of hand soap and always got great results. I used to dry shave when I used carts as I would get better results than using canned goop.

    Stirling Unscented PSB

    It got deceptively busy yesterday, so once again I fell behind. This morning the Mamba and some Palmolive took care of business. A little Fine Platinum wrapped up a great shave. I hope everyone has a great day!

    Soap: PAA Sangre de Drago
    PAA Galactic witch hazel
    PAA unscented Star Jelly
    AS: PAA Sangre di Drago

    Good morning!

    No Theme Thursday. PAA Ascension was the chosen razor because it was out and had a blade in it. PAA Sangre de Drago because it caught my eye while putting yesterday's soap away and it's been a while since I've used it. Grizzly Bay WarForge just cause I thought it would look good in the picture. Well any excuse to use that brush is a good one. The two band knot in this brush is fantastic!

    Three passes for near BBS. I had the handle backed off a 1/4 turn yesterday, today I closed it up to its mildest setting, same result.
