  2. Great shave Blair. Not sure how long you've been SR shaving, but it sounds like you are doing really well.
    Thanks, Marine.
    Thank you, John.

  3. And I thought Doc ("I hate the Washington Capitals and love the Pittsburgh Penguins, need I say more?)Emerick was going to lose his voice with that great save by Binnington in the 3rd.....I think Doc was getting ready to say SCORE! and had to quickly re-arrange his voice-box. But, great point on the Boston-St. Louis sports rivalry.

  4. I'd like to think I am. I wonder, though, did I do so well because I'm much further along with the CF than with other soaps? I reached down with a finger and could touch the bottom of the puck. Still a little ways to go, of course. Thanks for the compliment.

IMG_2280.jpg Looks like I've fallen behind on the thread again. Missing a day on here means being a few hundred posts behind!
Still using the Tech for the Basics focus. The Polsilver is still feeling sharp, so I haven't seen the need to change it. One more day tomorrow for this razor and blade I think.
The donut hole in this soap tub is about the size of a quarter now...I've got an extra tub of this older FC soap, so that won't even result in a den reduction when it is complete. I've always loved this scent, and I think the Jeeves splash is a very nice compliment to it. 3 easy passes left me smooth enough early this morning and these two favourite scents put a jump in my step as well.
    Have a great day all!

  10. Thank you. Wet shaving w/DE tools started early Jan 2019. RAD for DE hardware mostly, but leaned to open blades. Early/mid Feb.....acquired and tried a Feather AC DX, and a couple vintage SRs (Puma and Henkels). Those were information and ability overload, quite quickly. Stuck with DE tools, software and blade samplers Feb/March/April. March is when I actively started 30DC, just lurking before.

Fast forward to May 1st....decided to give it another go with open blades for a 'focus'. Started with the Feather AC DX mostly, then again with the Puma and Henkels. I could go count posts where I've used an open edge, but not a concern of mine, just quality of my end result.

Most of the time I'm getting SR shaving results similar to my DE results (FB, Slim, Gold Tech, GEM, and a few others), so I'm a pretty happy camper. Found a handful of products that don't work in my world. I've had one big SR oops (and a few minor bumps) but nothing that scars.

I confess to complete newbie'ism overload enthusiasm & enabled RAD/SAD/BAD.

So. Much. Fun. (and TSD 30DC only makes it more so)!

    Good afternoon, guys!
Got my new goodies today in the mail and I will use some of them, today!
My next random pick was my Böker King Cutter and so this will be traditional SR shave #80. I decided to use my Omega Pro 49 to lather my new soap, Proraso Green. This is the first time using this soap and I like it. It is easy to lather and gives a nice cushion. However, I was very careful shaving because this soap is not super slick. The menthol doesn't really kick in until the 2nd pass, but the cooling effect of the menthol was nice. The scent isn't overbearing and fades pretty quickly which isn't a deal-breaker for me. I achieved an IBSS without any cuts, nicks, weepers or irritation. Overall, it was a very satisfying shave. Applied Proraso AS and it felt nice. The AS scent isn't strong and fades quickly and that's ok by me.
    Result: Grade 95 = A
    Have a great afternoon, guys! 20190613_145009.jpg 20190613_145009.jpg
  16. Cheery looking bunch... Can't imagine why... BTW, what's that cheesy-looking overdone silver mug doing taking up all that room in that team photo? :)

  18. Great photo and report, Joe! I think the ProRaso shaving creams are better known and more popular than the soaps, but the soaps are definitely Good Stuff too.

  19. One of your usual classy photos, Jason. I like your basics setup there, although the brush is certainly way out of the basics league.

Meant to ask -- is your Pre-War Tech one of the American or Canadian ones? Either way, I think those triangle-slot Techs are one of the finest shavers out there, especially considering how unassuming they are compared to the flashy modern razors or even the vintage "glamour" Gillettes.
