You’ve cost me a bit, Clint! The pics and review of the CH2 synth helped fuel a purchase for sure. Maybe some SV software as well! More than anything, I was just poking fun as you called me Jim...
No, I haven’t. I think my next one will be the Manna de Sicilia. You speak highly of it, and I like it in the bath soap I have.
Jason, the Razorock soap that I used this evening, doesn't contain tallow. It has stearic acid, coconut oil and shea butter plus other chemical ingredients.
awesome shave sir, i like the wilkinson razor, though i am used to short handles..top notch for the $$$
Kawhi is the key. If he leaves, they’ll move Lowry and Gasol when their contracts end next year and build around Siakam, Freddy and Anunoby. He signs and I think they keep it together.
I prefer tallow soaps. Stirling shave soaps are my favorite. I bought 2 Razorock tubs for variety and it was only 4 dollars per tub. I wasn't expecting a great soap like Stirling. However, Razorock non-tallow is ok and it served its purpose. I also had it a little too wet so that played a factor in the slickness. If I buy any more Razorock soap, it will be tallow based for the better slick factor.
Today I had one more shave with the Ralf Aust. Tomorrow I'll pull out something else for a week or so. Lather was Haslinger ringelblumen yet again. Still doesn't look any closer to gone, so I'm just enjoying it while it lasts. 3.5 passes, zero irritation, one weeper (yesterday's again, actually.)
Just the Basics June!! June 14 Razor - Gillette NEW LC Delta Echo Blade - (3) Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Brush - Jayaruh #312 Post - Alum Two shaves in a row on consecutive days. A semi-rarity these days what with my schedule and all of these interruptions caused by a certain group of guys on skates. With the parade downtown tomorrow I'll be up early and headed out to make sure everyone who wants gets there on time. Well, as long as they pay anyway. Because I missed a reference to the PUCK in last night's report, it was suggested I suffer the punishment of attending to the Bard's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and consider the character Puck. Well, a fair punishment deserves a fair return, and, when I get up early on a Saturday tomorrow I'll remember his words....."Fairy king, attend, and mark: I do hear the morning lark." It's Fat Friday so, of course, it's MWF for the soap. The New LC and Voskhod still in perfect form and the JR312 fake pony made it truly fun to get this lather up and running. Three passes, totally smooth and error free and I'm a very happy and satisfied camper. That kind of shave really does come down to basics. Great classic razor and blade, soap and brush, and alum that proves it's all good. Have a great weekend!
I do generally prefer Tallow soaps as well, Joe. There are a handful of Non-tallow soaps in my den that are very good lathers, though. Chief amongst them are Saponificio Varesino soaps, followed by Castle Forbes, Soap Commander and Sudsy Soapery.
Beautiful colours, Robert. I’ve seen those European glass Brut bottles for cheap on the Bay and have been interested, but I don’t think they’d make it to North America with the restrictions on shipping alcohol.
Thanks for the thumbs up! That was my first time trying any of their product. As I understand it they use the same soap base with different scents so I know how it performs. With one test lather quickly followed by a lather I used - it's good stuff. The other two Old Spice dupes I'm aware of are Stirling (about guaranteed good) and B&M who is my last unknown. I'm not in a hurry since I've got more Shulton AS than I expect to use in my lifetime. It's part of my Grand Plan of actually having a couple soap and AS in the same scents.
