My latest is an HTC PDA phone. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera which is better than my last digital cam had. It takes great pics. I posted the new shave cabinet using the camera phone a few days back to give you an idea. Also it does have a flash, but I didn't use it for that pic. Here it is: Not bad at all for a phone camera IMO.
3.2 megapixel on your phone? geesh... I think I am still at about .7 mp and that is with the phone doing cruddy stuff to the raw file. It is suppose to get 2? but it isn't even 1. Just like it is supposed to have standby battery to last 2 days... it lives maybe 5 hours.
Right? I was stunned when the pic came out that nice. I even managed to get it from the phone to the computer w/out too much cursing. I'll check yours later when I get home. EDIT: I know what you mean Justin. These camera phones are getting high tech. Of course so are digital cams. We just replaced our digital cam for 100 bucks at Target. The latest greatest from Nikon. 8 megapixel w/ a bunch of doo dads. Takes great pics too.
I'm out kids. Hit the gym and then home for viddles. Seems counterproductive doesn't it? I get hungry; can't help it. I'll stop in later and check Jens pics. C ya.
I think I am crashing early tonight. Faculty meeting in the morning, so I ought to get a good start before then. See you all tomorrow!
Speaking of pictures, I have a roll of film washing in my sink right now. Yes, film, and I developed it my self. Any other darkroom people?
Black and white 35 right now just bought a rangefinder, 120 is next(since I just got a bunch of 120 film). What is a good 120 camera?
Depends on what you like to do. Most of my work would fall under the "experimental photography" genre. I use an old Holga to shoot 120. Holgas are very cheap, unreliable, and shoot very erratically, but work great with what I do. The Holgas are a good, inexpensive bridge into the 120 world - 120 format cameras can be quite expensive. If you want something better, you can pick up a Seagull camera for around $200. They're a little quirky and take some getting used to, but they shoot pretty decent pictures.
Hey those are great pics Jen. Your phone does a nice job too. Shawn. What can I say. Someday your kids will see all your drunk pics and you won't be able say a thing. Nice looking woman btw. What's she doing w/ you???
Thanks I'm glad you like them. If you don't mind I'm really curious as to how your camera phone does in low light, would you mind taking a few pics if you get a chance?
oops! remember those little photo-reactive jellyfish I mentioned? turns out they aren't they're called comb jellyfish and the rainbow light effect I was seeing was actually light being scattered by their cilia clusters that they use to propel themselves. Fun fact: they're the largest creatures in the world to use cilia to move themselves.
yeah... and most of them are hermaphrodites too. Good morning everyone! Faculty meeting this AM so just catching up and then heading in early to get ready. Have a good day everyone!
